Cyber hugs!

This post is about the feeling more than the card…….Stampin’ Up! is about heart and what you feel inside. I’m glad what Stampin’ Up! has taught me, will let me express how I feel. I’m sending a special cyber hug to a special lady and her new son. I hope this world gives both of them everything they deserve……..I hope they both feel lucky and loved………..here is the card I will mail to them in the morning…… and I hope they feel the love that I’ve put into making it………I am so smiling right now !

Anyone seen my celery ribbon?????

I’ve looked everywhere…….a brand new roll of certainly celery grosgrain………..only recieved it last week……….I so wanted to make this card with my new inkpads from the soft subtles collection. Oh well……the in colours get another airing……..

This is one of those cool pull out cards…….the base is the very vanilla and then I’ve folded the front of the card, back in half……the matted cool carribean, cranberry crisp and choc chip are stuck to the inside back…….did I explain that so it is as clear as mud LOL!!!!! I’ve seen all those cool stampers from the US doing these cards and thought it would be a way to make a vanilla card seem more interesting. This is the make and take for next weekends workshop……shhhh don’t tell ‘em  LOL!!!!!

It’s OK , we are making a fathers day card as well (yep, we are doing two things…………don’t you all want to workshop with me now LOL!!!!!!)

This weekend was my stamp club get together and we learnt how to cover tins…….most of my group are card artists and I’m pushing them a bit outside the box – so to speak……..but I think we’ve done well. Next month we are making a mini album to pop inside, based on a theme of their choice…..I’ll have to take pictures once we finish. They are looking great already! I’m still waiting on Nicole to e-mail the pictures. I will harrass her on Monday LOL!!! Talk to you all again soon……..tell me what you’ve been up to!

Scribbling a thought……

This card was done quite a while ago…….it was the first time I inked up the scribble this set from the mini catalogue.

thinking-of-scribblesup.jpg

I stamped that gorgeous flower in the bottom left corner, then masked(covered, so you can stamp over the area without ruining the image) the flower with a post-it note. I then stamped the scribble flourishes and where the post it not covered their ends I used the fabulous stampin’ write black pen to finish the scribbles so each one looks different. Fascinating to me that they all look different , but came from the same stamp. I coloured with my bold bright watercolour crayons. So this is just a stamp card with a bit of colouring, all done on whisper white. This was a little different, but very satisfying to complete. Trust me, it is a white card……………really white LOL!!!!!

I have so much to show you, but need to get my sister to e-mail the photos across to me so I can upload them…..stay tuned for lots and lots of off the page stuff…………:-)

More great (and easy!) fete ideas………

fridge-notes.jpg

These are really cool and most importantly, really easy. These are fridge note pads that are great for shopping reminders. They are made using cheap pads bought in a $2 shop. I think we paid $1 for 3 pads. We then measured the length of the pad + spine + 1 inch (to fold over onto the back. The pads were already backed in chipboard. We measured the width and cut cardstock to match these measurements. The cover was scored where the spine was to go (with two score lines just slightly wider then the spine height). The cover was stamped with cool Stampin’ Up! stamps and versmark and then an embellishment made and mounted and stuck to the front. We wrapped organza around the finished, glued product. Two pieces of adhesive magnetic strip was added to the back – one up near where the cover was glued and the over about 3/4 of the way down the back. This was a great way to explore the new colour combinations I wanted to try out as well as ‘play’ with stamps that haven’t had an airing for a while………lots of fun……This was one project the kids helped me with….

Now stay tuned to see last friday nights efforts……I will photograph tonight and post in the next day or so……….I have Soooooooo much on at work at the moment, don’t even start me on what is going on at home…………..phew!

Mid week stampin……..oooohhh wwwaaaahhhh!

I’ve been a bad girl…..I’ve been stamping in the middle of the week…………I’ve also mounted about 12 stamp sets ………..my hand hurts a bit……..

This is a service I offer my clients who occasionally buy stamps for their stashes. I’m happy to mount a few sets , seeing as though I don’t do workshops every week. Sooooo if this is putting you off buying or you’d like to have a workshop and you’re afraid of the mounting thing……..contact me………

Anyway….here are two cards I made for colleagues this week. The first is for my ‘boss’ who was awarded a Premier’s scholarship to study science teaching overseas for a few weeks next year. This is very prestigious and noone is more deserving…..! So I made this to congratulate him on Friday……

This is a window frame card and the middle piece is cut out. The really rust trees are stamped on the inside. The large pine on the right is stamped with old olive onto the front. The olive was also used to stamp the linen background. This is an interesting, quick card…….hope he likes it!

The next card is for our nurse at the surgery who is happily pregnant and it’s time to celebrate……..this uses a retired baby set from the old catalogue……..The new baby set in the mini , called bundle of joy is on my next order so I can make her some cool baby announcements. I’ll put them up when I’m done………

This is a crappy scan but the card is much better IRL……the card is made with certainly celery and stamped with versamark, the background stamp and baby bottle border from Baby talk. The little baby is stamped on watercolour paper and coloured with the crayons - perfectly plum. This is mounted on green and then plum . The plum layer has some faux stitching done with the black stampin’ write marker and it is attached with some dimensionals …….hope she likes it……..

All right….let’s return to normal programming and stamp o Friday nights  HUH!!!!!!!!
