Off on holidays………

I am just letting you know that I will be taking a break until the 10th of Jan……off for some surf, sun and sand (with a few margharitas to keep it all bareable)…..LOL!! I will be busy though…….making lots of samples using the salebration FREE stamp sets that will be available with orders over $100 in January and February………….so I’ll post those as soon as I return……..for those customers who are desparate to catch me…..LOL!!!…..I will have my mobile on me…..send a message and I’ll return the call when I’m sober………hhhhmmmmm………….talk soon, stay safe and well…..

Family Christmas shot…..

Last week was Maddy and Jared’s Christmas concert at school. Caitlin wasn’t involved as it was an infants school thing. I asked the older two if they’d like to come and was quite pleased when they were happy to. I have a rule…….if you go to something like this, you watch it…..no hanging out with mates etc…….So, I was really thrilled that they were happy to watch their younger siblings sing Christmas carols….AGAIN!!!! I have neen to 9 of these and still have one more to go………but it is great because they were in different classes and Nicole (my sister) also had a class item we were keen to see as well.

This was a shot I took of all four …….hard to get them in the same place at the same time and happy to get a photo. Brendan (13) is up the back , Maddy (6) front left, then Caitlin (9) and Jared (8) on the right…………..my little cherubs………hhhmmmm, now to go yell at them LOL!!!!!!!!

Some card maker – card seller I am!!! I’ve only just finished the cards I will send to wish my family and friends a very merry christmas and a happy new year. In fact the families I will meet on holidays I will simply take with me and hand deliver…..I am so going to be organised next year!!!!!

 I have used up some patterned paper that has been hanging around for a while, but I am sure you can recognise some Marelle designs and a few others that have appeared on SCS………….now to just write on them……hhhmmmmmmmmmm….maybe I can use the computer….just joking……..!!!!

Next year….10 Christmas cards a month, then I will have to sell my left overs to other people who run out of time…..like me….:-s…………….hope you are all organised more than I!!!!

Chrissie presents……for teachers!!

OK….this idea has been around the traps now for a while. Especially with all those thousands of All in the family stamp sets that were sold in November………..thanks to everyone who did buy these…one family is dealing with a horrible Christmas without their dad/husband, at least the financial burden will be a bit lighter.

This is a present for the teacher of my eldest daughter, Caitlin. Her teacher is a gem and after two years with Miss Lee, she will be getting a new teacher next year. This is part of her present.

This is made using a realtively cheap box frame. The two mats have been decorated….the inside mat is stamped with the small flower from scribble this (in craft white…….how great is that ink????) and the outside mat has had a faux stitiching treatment (using the paper piercing tool , mat pack and white gel pen). The actual picture is stamped with Upper case Whimsical alpha and the people have been done using the All in the family (coloured using rich regal markers and the aqua painter). The flowers and butterflies came from the small sayings stamp set that is currently available in the summer mini.

This gift came to less than $8………an absolute bargain. My sister has requested one of these for her classroom door too. Wonder if it would work in high school??……LOL!! Somehow, I doooonnnnn’tt think so…………..what a pity……!!!!!

Christmas cards……

Here are the Christmas cards I gave out at our team dinner last week. Mind you…….brain drain moment……I actually took this photo before I’d finished them………I was in a hurry ,because I really was making them the afternoon before they were needed , while fielding the usual afternoon barrage of questions my kids file at me when they get home from school. Luckily Leonie has a great picture on her blog that shows the finished product. You’ve got to laugh!!!!!

AND …..yes, I still haven’t finished (read – done any ) Christmas cards to send to friends and family. Looks like that will be my main aim next week , after work and everything else that’s on this week (work meeting , christmas carols concert at school, family christmas get together….).

Oh, speaking of work…..guess what I get to see next week!!! Go on, you’ll never , never guess………….the fully automated dairy at the Macarthur Agricultural Institute……I’m excited!! Yep, I know I’m weird……..LOL!!!!!!!

 

Back to the card……..these are gorgeous pocket cards…..they really are easy! Not my idea, but this has been cased a million times over and who wouldn’t with such a great looking, but quick design. The stamp set used is the festive favourites ……….. this was my chrissie stamp set purchase for 2007….I try and only buy one set a year…..ooops forgot about perfect endings and snow flurries…….ooohhh well, the best intentions!!!!! The patterned paper is also from Stampin’ Up!© and it is double sided (I used the other side to make the tab that you’ll see on leonie’s picture.) The paper is called four seasons and is very versatile…………

Now, my christmas cards this year will not be very original. I will be using design  ideas from the idea book and catalogue (after all….that is what it is designed for) and of course, the lovely Marelle has done a great ‘12 days of christmas’ series that I will be using for inspiration. Pop into her blog and get inspired……

Chrissy gifts……..babies on the way….

            

No….!!!!……not mine!!! I have enough already!

But, some of the guys I am working with are about to become dads. One is waiting on the arrival of his first. I made this (as a bit of a trial run…….) tin to stack some little gifts like socks, jumpsuits, face washers and of course…..a bib!!! LOL!!!! This was a cardboard sided tin (paid $1 for !!!!!!!!!) that I have covered in some patterned paper (using a row of double sided tape top and bottom) and then stamped some cute little characters that are watercoloured using the markers from Stampin’ Up!. They are then cut out and applied to the side with dimensionals. ‘Baby ‘is done using big deal alphabet, versamarked then heat & stick powder applied before the dazzling diamonds applied. These were also cut out and applied with dimensionals. Some gorgeous celery grosgrain is tied around and a tag is embossed onto certain celery CS and then punched with the tag punch……

Great idea…(cheaper thank gift wrapping!!!!!!)……talk again soon……..
