Nearly what I was after………LOL!

This was one of those cards that I had a ‘picture’ of in my head. Unfortunately…it didn’t quite live up to the image I had…..LOL! I do think like it though………..

The photo doesn’t really do it justice. It was taken just after I finished it at about 11pm…….daylight is so better to take photos by……….Colours aren’t exactly true……..might have to take another!.

This photo I have uploaded onto our (Elite Stampers ) gallery and have named it….’A little help from my friends’ – that’s because it was created using stamps that have been gifted to me over the last year. The background was delivered by the ‘Secret Sant’ and the beautiful bodacious bouquet was given to me by Tracey, Kerri, Jenny and Carol.

The gorgeous background (Paisley) is stamped on vintage violet cardstock with the same colour ink……The embellishment on the left is done using almost amethyst CS (it looks blue in the photo….) and certainly celery. The scallop is done using the corner rounder punch with the guard removed. I have layered them and used silver eyelets to provide a great feature down the left. The ribbon you can see poking out is vanilla. The stamped image is done using bodacious bouquet and stamped using almost amethyst, vintage violet and certainly celery. I masked the darkest flower and stamped the leaves. I then masked the leaves to stamp the lighter flowers…….very tricky, but worth it I think……..The corners were then rounded with the punch (this time with the guard on…)  and mounted on vintage violet and certainly celery. Silver brads were then placed in opposite corners…..

Only a few days left on my special for free ink pad with every purchase of $100 or more……2 inkpads for $200 (don’t forget that salebration also entitles you to a free stamp set for every $100 spent!!).

Merci ………… for Salebration

notebook-cover.jpg

Image © Stampin’ Up! 1990 – 2008

This is a cover I made for my aunt’s notebook. She carries these little books around in her handbag to write all sorts of little gems in……..i.e. my uncles’ chest size so she can buy him a shirt that fits. This is funny to me (luckily she doesn’t use the internet!!) because she is one of those shoppers that exchanges everything!!! She finds something she likes and then she ‘hides’ it in the store until she has made up her mind. Then she goes back and purchases it and takes it home. After she doesn’t like it anymore (it is unworn and still has the tags attached…..) she takes it back and exchanges it. I love her dearly but avoid shopping with her LOL!!!

So……anyhow……….she challenged me to make a quick cover for her book. I did this on holidays so it follows the soft subtles colour scheme and has a little glitter and faux stitching added……are you sick of them yet???

Merci is the set used…….you can’t buy this set…….it is FREE!!!! Ask me how…you can get this until the end of February !! This set has 6 (yes 6) stamps in it and also includes a flower stamp, you can see the cute heart stamped in the background using the versamark ink, a butterfly stamp and Merci of course! It colours beautifully using any technique…..ink pad, markers, crayons and pencils………

Only 4 days til I have to go back to work……..ggggrrrrrr!

Salebration is wonderful!!

birthday-whimsy-up.jpg

Image©Stampin’Up! 1990 – 2008

Well here is another card made with a salebration set. This set has heaps of options. It is one that I used ofr inspiration for my workshop last week.

This was done on holidays……………….my daughter used this set today to start making cards for her girlfriends birthdays this year. She has a tonne of supplies that just seem to sit while she mopes around waiting for me to print photos. I suggested she could make as many cards as she’d like! Well the stamp sets are getting a working out as are my markers LOL!!

The set used in this card is only available as a free option if you do one of two things….

1. Put in an order for $100 or more during January or February! NOTE – I’ll also give you a free inkpad in January for every $100 spent…how good is that??

2. Hold a workshop with sales over $600……….in Jan or Feb

or you could even sign up as an independant demonstrator during this time and earn yourself a whole lot of other stamp sets for free over the coming months……ask me how!!

The colours used in this card are mellow moss and perfect plum! Let me know if you’d like more detailed instructions…….

See ya soon…..

Want to earn some extra cash…..?

Do you enjoy papercrafts? Do you like working with people who have the same interests as you? Have you thought about being a demonstrator?

This is an extract from my customer newsletter that might be of interest to you….

I know a few of you have investigated the possibility of becoming a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator.

Well…….this has to be the best time to join up.
For January and February there are many great reasons to think a little harder.
Let me explain…..
1. There is currently a special, that has been extended until the end of February, for 10% off the price of the starter pack…..translating to $$$ instead of $324 it is only $291.60. This kit contains all the business supplies and stamping products to get you started.
2. Because of salebration….you also get an additional stamp set thrown in from the catalogue….that’s right! ANY set……
3. The first order you place over $300 gives you a 30% discount on your stamps (every other order is 20%) ……..with a $300 order during salebration, you would qualify for 3 free salebration sets if this was goods currently on your wish list……..
4. The quarterly minimum sales of $500 would not need to be met until the end of JUNE….that is plenty of time……
There are numerous other benefits of signing up to Stampin’ Up! I have had a blast and have just organised my tickets to head to Brisbane in April for our convention…..I’d sooooo love for you to join me.
When I joined, I had not even seen any of the great products before, but had drooled over the US catalogue for a couple of years. As soon as I discovered that they were in Australia I rang them and got in contact with Tracey, my great upline. She supports me, trains me and is now one of the hundreds (yes, hundreds!!) of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators that I talk to each day. They are a great bunch………….
If you are at all thinking about this as a possibility, you should call me or contact me so I can give you much more detailed information to help you make the best decision for you. This has been a great experience for me, but just as importantly it has paid for all my craft supplies for the last 12 months…………..anyway, think about it!

My scrapbooking efforts…..

scrapbooking-12in-up.jpg

Image © Stampin’ Up! 1990 – 2008

Well I’ve shown you the kids work (see previous post…) now I thought I’d show you what I’ve done. It has been great to actually get some scrapping done . I did another page last night for an album that I am completing under commission….so I can’t  show you that as I don’t have permission and it is a surprise birthday gift!

This is my gorgeous smiley kid, Caitlin……(although hormones make her more surly these days….LOL!) when she was about three. This picture has been in a frame for years and the glass broke……..YIPPEEE! I can scrap it now!

Not all my pages are all SU!..but this one is (edited to add – except for the prima of course!) The page is set on sahara sand and stamped in the same using Looks like spring. I have daubered the edges to take away the crispness of it. The stripe through the middle is using two pieces from the Spring Showers DP. The edges have been roughed up using the cutter kit. The title “Just be U” comes from All about you and is stamped in black and really rust (to match the papers). The piece through the middle of the photo is really rust with some pricking using the mat pack and roughed up using the cutter kit. The gorgeous (need to get me some more) ribbon is the wide grosgrain from the current min catalogue (available in cream, chocolate and celery). It is reall great to work with, soft and flexible and holds the knots really well. The bottom right hand corner has a message that I have made using the small sayings set. The stamp says – ‘my heart is with you’ I have inked it up with the rust marker and just inked ‘my heart is’ and then hand scripted ‘always’, then after cleaning the stamp just inked ‘with you’. So now it says “my heart is always with you’……cool huh!!

smaller-detail.jpg

This shows you the little pocket with more detail. It is actually made using a piece in the pieces and pockets collection that is now retired….but it is just a pocket that has had a square window cut out ( you could do this really well with a square  punch……we see those  LOL!!) and a half circle cut from the top edge. It is in Kraft cardstock and stamped using the dotted harlequin stamp from looks like spring. The tag inside (yes…..it has journalling on the back!!) is made using very vanilla and the front is decorated using a collage of the images from the stamp set stamped in the colours that match the patterned paper – barely banana, sahara sand , really rust and bashful blue. The ‘c’ is done using upper case whimsical alpha. The top has a button (neutrals collection) and some linen cord to use as an anchor and a pull………The flower is a prima that I have coloured with bashful blue and the aqua painter.

All of these products are available from me for purchase…..sharon@lvh.com.au

Hope you like it……….

Carte Postale……

carte-postale-b.jpg

Image © Stampin’ Up! 1990 – 2008

This is a great stamp set! I stamped these images from another demonstrators set at a recent team meeting (waving to the other inkers away group members!!) but will be putting it, and the coordinating jumbo wheel in my next order ……so I qualify for the great free stamp sets you can get during salebration!

The stamp sets used are Carte postale and the saying comes from small sayings. I have used that set HEAPS so far……..so versatile and only $29.95!!!

The cardstock is…..yes you guessed it – soft subtles (another card made while I was away on holidays). The card front is barely banana. The green piece is mellow moss and stamped with its matching ink. This layer and the other is mounted on basic black. The sentiment is stamped in basic black onto pretty in pink cardstock, layered on black and the brads are apricot ones I think (but they still match perfectly!!).

The central medallion looks tricky but it’s not. This is a popular way to stamp these great stamps. I stamped the medallion three times onto very vanilla CS , using barely banana, pretty in pink and mellow moss ink. The barely banana one was cut up so I could separate the flower and the rest was discarded. The pink one was cout around the solid cirle and this was all mounted on top of the mellow moss piece. This is a bit like paper tolle……..do you get it??? Only the last layer (the flower) was mounted on using dimensionals. This was a nice quick and simple card as well………

Give me a buzz if you’d like to make up an order for Carte Postale ($49.95) , Leaves a la carte jumbo wheel ($15.95) and French Flair (great background set that coordinated with all this !! $33.95) and the designer series paper – Enchante ($16.95)………YOU”LL THEN END UP WITH A FREE SET!!

Have a great day everyone…I know I will….it’s Friday !! My stamping night!!!!

Mini matters….as does Love!!

Ok……yes, more minimal product cards. These cards were made whilst on holidays at sunny Bendalong ……. (can you tell??) and use the great set love matters from the current mini (this stuff is available until the end of march).

 love-matters-up.jpg

I only took away Soft subtles cardstock (makes me use colours I sometimes shy away from…..) and some neutrals, my inks, crayons and brads. My tool kit was well utilised . The one on the right would make a great valentines card…..it uses mellow moss, stamped hearts in the same colour ink and I went over the dots using the white gel pen. The other colours used were pale plum and perfect plum. The hearts were added using dimensionals. The layering helps give a more rich appearance with minimal fuss.

The other card has pale plum as the background with the same white gel pen accent on the background . The friends embellishment is mounted on bashful blue and certainly celery. The flowers were stamped onto barely banana, apricot appeal and perfect plum cut out and attached with brads and dimensionals. All the brads come from the mixed pack of soft subtles.

All the embellishments are coloured with crayons and aqua painter.

If you would like to order any of these (or other products)…now is a great time to contact me ! FREE stamp set AND ink pad for every $100 spent!!!!!

Now,…..back to filing my school papers YUKKK!

6-in-caitlin-and-madup.jpg

 Images © Stampin’ Up! 1990 – 2008

This is also using one of the free sate in the salebration catalogue! It is called friendship blooms and I have used soft subtles cardstock again. I also used the matching inks. This sure makes coordination a no brainer! The ribbon is from the new summer mini catalogue (Flirty collection)

TIP – the centres of the flowers (you can’t tell in the photo ) have some glitter in them. Each brad has a mini glue dot carefully applied (they are the perfect size) and then it is dipped in dazzling diamonds to add some bling!!!

Hope you all like it!!
