April Classes……

faux-tiling.jpg

Images © Stampin’ Up! 1990 -2008

These are photographs of my April class cards. I will be holding a class at my home in Camden, Sydney on Sunday the 27th of April at 2pm . The cost of this one will be $15…….We will be concentrating on making our images using a masking technique and then presenting this as faux tiles. This is a fun technique that involves using the embossing gun. So this is a great opportunity to come play with embossing powders and leaving the mess behind when you go. My class last month was not only lots of fun, but a huge success.

I have limited placed for this one and already have two people booked for this. I will supply instruction sheets so you can go home and do lots more of these with your stamp sets……….maybe even try some variations with the tiles on point………..

To reserve your place, e-mail at sharon@lvh.com.au and I will send you confirmation and my address details. All you need to bring for this one is a bone folder (if you have one) and adhesive.

oh I will prolly have a heap of second hand, retired stamps to sell….or maybe not, if they sell before then LOL!! (Keep your eye on this space, I will list the ones that I have to sell after the 1st….)

Easter workshop with the Kings’……..

easter-workshop.jpg

This is the stuff we made at my workshop on Good Friday with the King family and their guests. It was a small intimate affiar, but boy did we have fun. We made a great card that we coloured using the retiring Favourite Teddy (I’m going to miss that set – in fact I think I will keep it LOL!!). We coloured using the Stampin’ Up!©  Watercolour pencils. They are soooooo lovely to colour with. This kids enjoyed colouring with the pencils and then using the aqua painter to get rid of the lines. The other card was using one of my new favourites – Simply said. This set was fun, ’cause we used the Stampa-ma-jig to line everything up nicely. We also used the wide grosgrain (thank god that will be around for a while yet – new catty hint there LOL!!). We also used the loves me paper that we say goodbye to at the end of this month. Angie (my hostess) has a great blog where she is following the Ali Edwards 21 day challenge ….check her out here....
She has taken some great photos from the workshop (PS…the great ones are the ones without me….LOL!) and then some of her daughter making cards the next day…….we all had such a great time.
Now, in the photo above you can see a cute easter basket/bucket made using the petal prints daisy stamp, cut out, skewered and then the tip of the skewer is placed into the baby egg. The skewer was actually held in place by using oasis in the bucket. This idea came from Alex (another demo in my group……I have to hunt down her blog). She did a much more elaborate one……ssoooooo gorgeous.
I actually did this as a bit of a laugh. Angie (my hostess), is the owner of a local craft supply place , ACN packaging  where I frequent to pick up all sorts of supplies, including my card bags, buckets and boxes, wrapping paper, ribbon……you name it. It was fun to see her daughter recognise a couple of their great products throughout the workshop. ACN has great mailing service or you can pop in and take a look at the products. I love that place – in fact have a wardrobe full of their stuff that I use all the time…….
OK….COUNT DOWN TO THE NEW CATALOGUE………it is only days away, I have a HUGE wishlist and have lots of stamps that i will be selling off cheap so I can get new ones……stay tuned. Don’t forget to contact me in regards to getting your hands on the new catalogue……………talk soon,

Stem sympathy…………

stem-sympathy.jpg
Image ©  Stampin’ Up! 1990 – 2008
This card is CASED from Angela Sargeant. You can see her version here..…. This is a sympathy card for a friend who recently lost her Dad way too suddenly. She really is devastated and feels like her world is falling apart………….I can relate. I’ve been there and thankfully back from there. Losing a parent is certainly life changing. I have made lots of changes to my life since my mum left us to join those she lost. I’m planning to live this life the best that I can and look forward to one day sharing a coffee with her and a chat………I hope my friend will see things better as she gets through her grief.
This card is made with whisper white CS and embossed with silver EP. The stamp set is stem silhouettes……yes, you have probably heard by now that this set hasn’t made it to the new catalogue. You NEED this set as much as you think you do. It is only available until the end of March. The embossing powder is also retired (although I reckon it will be reconfigured). The silver cord I have wrapped aroung the basic black embossed feature is also retiring. You should look very closely at the mini catalogue to check to see if there is anything you love because most is retiring……..huge sigh…….I hate saying goodbye.
Contact me if you need to get any sets before they go………..

I’m tagged…….

The lovely Rebecca Munro has tagged me! {Actually I think leonie did too…….ooops}

Apparently, the rules which you must abide by if you are tagged are:
1. Link to your tagger and post these rules.
2. Share 7 facts about yourself: some random, some weird.
3. Tag 7 people at the end of your post and list their names (linking to them).
4. Let them know they’ve been tagged by leaving a comment at their blogs.

So here goes……..

1. There are 9 people who live on my house…….and it never looks like that photo below ……. :-) . We (my sister and her son, my dad and mum – when she was alive) have lived together now for nearly 10 years. Most of my kids have never known anything else. We also have one dog, two birds and a leaf insect called leafroy!

2. My youngest son Jared has just broken his third bone ……….. and he is only 8!!!! One other break resulted in pinning and this break looks like needing a ligament reattachment op…… :-( ……..sighing here and laughing!!!

3. I am actually a full time teacher (science and ag at high school) and have recently celebrated a great result in the HSC as one of the kids I taught last year came first in the state!!

4. I work in a boarding school that also has a huge, working farm. My favorite animals to work with are the goats……….the least are the beef steers. I get to teach what I love……junior agriculture and senior science and chemistry……I am a lucky chicken!!

5. I have 4 children……boy (turned 14 yesterday) a girl (turned 10 yesterday), a boy (who is 8 ) and a girl (turned 7 two weeks ago..). Yes….you read right, my two eldest both have a birthday on the 14th of March………..

6. I have had a very special medical miracle (has two legs and lovely long hair)……..you’ll have to ask me about that one and four caesarians in total. My other surgery was a gall bladder removal at age 20!!!

7. My fave pastime is working on my SU! business and reading……when I’m not so tired I fall asleep.

Now who to tag………….I don’t know , any ideas?????? If you add a comment here I tag ya LOL!!

I’m finally home…………

house.jpg
Image © Stampin’ Up! 1990-2008
I’ve just returned from a week at camp with 136, 11-14 year olds ………… I’m soooooo tired. I just did a workshop yesterday afternoon and took my rug rats to the Camden Show…………..Today it’s time to clean this brothel, get some washing done and then do so school work for Monday.
This page was done using a picture of my house when the garden was respectful. Unfortunately I have just come inside from spending an hour cleaning up one smalll patch of it. The rest is filled with paspallum that has grown 8 feet high – I kid you not!!! I’m giving up and resorting to whipper snipping it and then hitting it with zero and will attempt to dig it out next week.
This page has used Cranberry crip CS and ink (both retriring at the end of the month) , recollections paper (also retiring) , trimtastic – which made the great trim edge on the patterned paper (also retiring ), everyday&flexible phrases, tab punch was used to make the bracket and the chocolate wide grosgrain tied around a hodgepodge buckle. The photo was mounted on mellow moss and the three brads up the top are also from the hodgepodge.
Keep an eye on the retiring list in the post further down the list. Stuff is starting to sell out.
I AM OFFERING A ONE DAY ONLY SPECIAL NEXT WEEK – SUNDAY THE 16TH OF MARCH – ALL ORDERS TAKEN ON THAT DAY WILL HAVE RETIRING STOCK REDUCED BY 10%………….JUST E-MAIL AND LET ME KNOW THAT YOU WANT YOUR ORDER PLACED ON THE 16TH……….MY E-MAIL IS sharon@lvh.com.au
ALL THOSE LOVELY LADIES COMING TO MY STAMPING CLASS ON THAT DAY WILL OF COURSE BE ENTITLED TO THAT SPECIAL………..ORDER UP BEFORE IT GOES !!!!!!!!!!

Guest blogger…….. Tracey H

Image ©  Stampin’ Up! 1990 – 2008
Well…..friday night was stamp club………..not really stamp club – but the girls from Stamp Club. Tracey H came along with Kelly and bought along the Champagne…….Leanne and Em were absent so we had some fun anyway LOL!!! Tracey is new to all this stuff and wanted to make a card. So we stole one of Alisa’s  ideas and made this card. Alisa has done this with a monochromatic (one colour – in different shades) colour scheme but we liked this combination. Tracey selected the colours from the Rich regal scheme and we used the Be Happy set to create this card. We also used the markers (as I don’t have those colours in ink pads) and the cuttlebug embossing folder for the BG. The ribbon comes from the flirty ribbons and is a perfect match. She also used the white gel pen to whack on some fake stitching. She was quite chuffed at her efforts , as she should be!!!! Come and join us another week Tracey – it was fun….and the champers were yummy!!
