Cheap boxes and packaging materials

Images © Stampin’ Up! 1990 – 2008

Yes, that gorgeous box on the left was purchased as a white metallic box in a pack of 10 for $2 last time ACN packaging

had one of its huge warehouse sales. I have been waiting for them to have another and THEY ARE {YIPPPEEE} ……..this week, on Friday and Saturday 9am – 5pm. The factories (clothes etc) around them will also be open with huge bargains. ACN sell amazing stuff and much of their stock will be set out and on sale for ridiculous prices. I’ll be there on Friday about 4pm on my way home from work with a wallet warmed up and ready to go LOL!!! The gorgeous boxes above are less than 20c each …….. who’d bother to make one from scratch when you can quickly put this together and stamp it so well. I don’t get commission , have been a customer for a while and ALWAYS have her packaging on hand to whip up a great gift wrap………LOL!!

This looked so cute. Part of a gift set that I made up for my eldest son’s , girlfriends birthday. Brendan is 14 and in love……..I’ve yet to meet her , everyone else has but Ive been so busy lately I haven’t actually had the pleasure yet. Will have to invite her around for dinner……….hope she is prepared LOL!!!

The card shown above is an emboss resist card made using Scribble this, embossed in white on whisper white cardstock. It was coloured using daubers and ink pads (groovy guava, purely pomegranate and sky blue)……..ribbons to match……..quite fun and effective!!

If you can get to Narellan, Sydney for the sale go for it! Tell Angie I sent you LOL!!!!!!!!!

Revealing page one of the album……..

Image © Stampin’ Up! 1990 – 2008

This is just gorgeous isn’t it?? This was done by my sister. She doesn’t do much scrapping, she is the more of a quilter…….material excites her LOL!! She has enjoyed lots of papercraft too and I often rope her in to help me prep for workshops and we both made thousands of cards for the fete last year.

Much of this album is SU! stuff, much of it has now retired…..but I thought the layouts and colour combination can be useful to readers. The family we did this album for have given permission for you to see it. Although, they have yet to see it LOL!!. It gets ‘delivered’ next Tuesday and Nicole is already spending the money…..LOL!……she has seen a great making memories caddy that she has wanted forever for her desk at school. So I think that will be her special treat, especially as she has spent much of her holiday completing it.

The colours used here are cranberry crisp, buckaroo blue, cream wide grosgrain and a bit of mellow moss ribbon. The scallop circle was cut using a nestabilities diecut. The cream patterned paper is not SU!. It was actually a piece we had left from doing our mum’s wedding album years ago. When I look at this album though, it is so much better. Makes me want to go back and redo mum’s album……wonder how she would feel about that? I’ll have to look up and ask her LOL!!! She’d prolly roll her eyes and just laugh!!Mind you if it was a quilt that she wasn’t happy with, she’d just pull it apart and start again. I’ve seen her do that many times. Mum would spend hours rearranging a ‘random’ design – used to send me nuts!!!!!!

Stay tuned for page 2 onwards…………Pssst – Leave a comment for Nicole, she’ll get a kick out of it – she ‘wonders’ if they’ll like it LOL!!!

Album Part 1……

This is just gorgeous! This is a box my sister made to fit a 12in album in. This is an album she was commissioned to do and has just completed. Unable to find a box, she just made one!! LOL!! I am going to show you more of this album over the coming weeks – it really is just gorgeous. Unfortunately, I was rubbing my hands together when I was watching all these great pages coming together – I was hoping for some great scrap pages to put on by blog – highlighting stock that SU! had in their catalogue……..guess what ! They retired the bloody papers we used as the main desugn feature of the album. The colours used are the old incolours, BUT there are some great designs and Wild Rose still is my favourite flower stamp set……I know it’s an old lady stamp – it reminds me of my grand aunts and my mother would have just loved it!!!! I had to have it as soon as the catalogue from last year was released…….so here is the box and matching card and envelope she has made for the family to pass round and sign!!

Come on girls….make me feel better LOL!!

Well……I’ll get on with the bloody story now…………when I checked this morning there was a list of sites that I didn’t recognise but when I clicked on the first is was Allison

Carte Postale

Images © Stampin’ Up! 1990 – 2007

This card used River rock CS and the Carte Postale set. It is inked with river rock, always artichoke and the central flower was inked with a so saffron marker and always artichoke marker run around the edges. A rhinestone brad is placed in the middle of the flower.

OK – blog candy now…….I’m giving away a stamp set (drawn randomly on Friday – so you need to comment before then) if you can guess how I used this card. Correct guessers (sorry, must reside in Australia and you can’t be a SU! demo) will be placed in a hat and your name drawn out. One salebration set from Jan/Feb this year will be on offer……..come on, take a guess………gotta give a hint…..look at the posts below…….

Now with 6 minutes left of Friday …………….. I have drawn the names out of a hat and Ruth picked up the stamp set. I will contact you in the morning and arrange that getting out to you soon Ruth. Stay tuned regularly as I will be giving away freebies more often that people are actually reading LOL!!!

Another gift bag….

Images © Stampin’ Up! 1990-2007

This is another gift bag made from two pieces of double sided patterned paper. I love this tapestry style watch . It is really elegant. The paper comes from Brocade background DP and the stamp set, which of course coordinates , is Brocade motifs. This was a bag made for a gift I gave my downlines when I returned from convention. It contained some magnets and a mini catalogue bag that they could use to display their cards or mini catalogues – a great business tool. The card was attached to the side using an envelope that was transformed into a pocket. The stamps were inked in choc chip, river rock and gold ink along with always artichoke. The card and envelope was spritzed with the spritzer tool and the brad through the middle is a yellow rhinestone brad. The bag only cost just over $2 to make , which is so reasonable now our designer papers are under $1 a sheet. This is cheaper (and way nicer) than a golo bag. Do you want to learn how to make these??? Contact me, or leave a comment and if there is enough interest we will run a class. Oh, you can make them in any size too………..check out the baby ones I’ve made…….scroll down LOL!!

Ahoy Matey!!!

Image © Stampin’ Up! 1990 – 2008

James had a birthday today. My Maddy was off to a party today with her friend James. We made this card and gift card wallet before she left. The card was sooooooo much fun to make. It was made using the ahoy matey set with the happy birthday from occasional greetings. This is a great, versatile set with lots of greeting options. The map on the card wallet was put on using the jumbo roller = maties map. It was inked with stazon so we could water colour. The brilliant and vibrant colours were easily achieved using the watercolour pencils. The SU! pencils are of the highest quality and I am ALWAYS happy with the result. I seem to do a quicker and better job with these. I scribble a bit of colour down the left and bottom of the part to be coloured and use my aqua painter to drag the colour up into the image. This leaves the illusion of shading without having to layer colours. Ideal for a quick kids birthday card!

I have watercoloured here on confetti cream. The confetti cardstock is great to watercolour on when you don’t have the option of watercolour paper. SU! watercolour paper is the BEST, but confetti works well………

I actually stuck the wallet onto the inside of the card for a change ……. the treasure chest helped point to where the pressie was stashed…….James will love his trip to the bookshop next week…..so will his mum – keep him quiet for a while LOL!!
