Birthday bundle……

This is the birthday card, stamped envelope and gift card holder I made for our neighbour who is turning 10 today. My number two son is attending his party at one of those laser zone thingos……
This card has been based with Wild Wasabi and the patterned paper is from ? (who knows??) . The other colours are only orange and real red. The stamp set is loads of love and the accessories. These are soooo versatile. I have another card here half made using this set that I will be sending to a friend. I have stamped in Stazon (to prevent the colour running) onto watercolour paper – what did I do before I discovered this stuff?? I have watercoloured using the watercolour crayons from the bold brights using the aqua painter. The tip here is to always wait until the first layer dries before you go back and add layers. This will give you a smooth colour and texture to the paper. I have used jumbo and regular eyelets as the feature – 10 year old boys love metal…..and of course twill….I have a cool green satin ribbon here that would look great but I figured the twill would be better suited to the purpose.
The sentiment is mounted using the 1inch, 1 1/4 inch and 1 3/8inch circle punch and added with a dimensional.
The gift wallet is cute – cut to fit the gift card it just has a piece of patterned paper on the bottom, and a circle punched out in red, two eyelets and twill to keep it closed.
The envelope is an SU! one of course …… THE best envelopes to stamp on………and is stamped using Defining alphabet in black, and the orange and red markers were used on the “D’s”. D is the first letter of the childs name of course.Hope you like this………….
I’m tagged and runnin’
The lovely Leonie and Kari have both tagged me…..thanks girls! I’m blushing……..
Rules of Tagging are …
1. Link your tagger and list these rules on your blog.
2. Share 7 facts about yourself on your blog.
3. Tag 7 people at the end of your post by leaving names as well as links to their blogs
4. Let them know that they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.
Now for seven interesting facts……..uumm I think I’ll just try for seven , you decide if they are interesting or not LOL!!!
1. I am the first person on either side (my dad or mum) of the family to attend University and the only other one was my sister who recently graduated as a Primary Teacher about 4 years ago. BUT….I’m the only one so far to finish high school
2. My mum passed away nearly two years ago from Cancer and I miss her every day!
3. I scrapbook and/or stamp every Friday night (if I don’t have a workshop on though….) REGARDLESS of what else there is to do……just because I DESERVE IT!!!
4. I am two years older than my sister. I only have one sister and we live together.
5. I have done a few different jobs in my time…………Checkout chick at Franklins, Fridge filler at Franklins, Vet Nurse and receptionist, teacher and now a SU! demo…….BUT I have only ever been interviewed for one of those jobs……can you guess which one???
6. My first car I got while still in high school, was a white Datsun 100….it was my uncles and we exchanged the car for a new bike so he could ride to work. A few years later I gave him back the car. He did this with many nieces and nephews and he was devastated when one sold the car before offering it back LOL!!
7. My grandfather used to refer to my husband as the ‘vegetarian bloke’ rather than veterinarian….PMSL!!
I am now supposed to tag people……..
1. Lana.………….she is a quiet one, love to know more about her.
2. Tracey..……has been a little quiet , need to ‘hear’ her cool posts again.
3. Karen .……….looking forward to working with her later this year.
4. Georgina….one fine lady!
5. Michelle.…….I hope she hasn’t been tagged yet…..oh well, she’ll have to think of 7 more cool things LOL!
6. Megan….she always has some great stuff to say and show….
7. Cheryl..….I love this chick!! LOL!!
Carly’s album cover…..
In an earlier post I was teling you about a 6 inch album we were making for a 21st. Well it is finally done. We have bound it with our fab bind it all and I really love it. The recipient will receive it this evening. We last night decided to make a smaller version with blank pages for her guests to record funny or unforgetable times they have spent with Carly over the years. We hope this brings them joy too……….. I was going to show you lots of this album and I will. But I will be offering it as a class later this year, perhaps in early August, where in 2 afternoons you can have an album just like this to keep or give as a gift.
This really was a quickie……..done in two evenings…….bound, covered and decorated. The pages are all decorated with the so swirly wheel and the Priceless stamp set…….you will love it as much as me I think. Really simple colour selection – black, white and mellow moss. No variation on that at all….I think that makes for an elegant album that concentrates on the photos……. I usually like my work (what’s the surprise in that, everything I don’t like ends up in the ’round filing cabinet’) but I really love this. We have thick covers on this album and have actually added a very thick perspex cover front and back to further protect the work inside……..anyway, tell me what you think! Want to come do a class for this one????????

The card you make in a panic……..
Images © Stampin’ Up! 1990 – 2008
This is the card you make when youngest daughter (aged 7) says at 7.25am (5 mins before you need to fly out the door so you get to work before the bell goes…..) “Mum, are you going to ring Mrs “L” today?”……….I reply….”Um, why would I need to ring Mrs “L” today Mad??”……..she goes to the fridge and takes off one of the many sheets of paper she insists on hanging on there , hands it to me and announces,…..”Mum, it’s Julia’s party this afternoon!”…….Shocked and dismayed, I organise my eldest daughter (aged 11) to ring Mrs “L” and ask if it is still OK for Mad to attend said party. I leave work at 2.57 (2mins after the last bell) and fly to Camden Target to buy present……..arrive in the door (did manage to get new bras for $15……a bit exciting!!!) at 4.15pm. The party starts at 5pm…….I make a card (The one shown above), cut Mad’s hair, organise clothes and wrap gift, all of course, with the help of my sister – who I can’t live without……….boy am I tired…………just finished mounting 12 stamp sets and packing about 10 orders ready for delivery in the morning……..
Anyway, hope you like the card……..quick watercolour card using Time Well Spent, Occasional greetings and big deal alpha. Apparently Julia and her mum loved it…………..bold brights are not my faves, but when I do use them, they make me smile LOL!!!!
