One sheet wonders

Images © Stampin’ Up! 1990 – 2008

One of my favourite things to do with stamps from Stampin’ Up! is to wheel a background and turn it into something. I made these cards a few months back in one of my stamp club gatherings……..we wheeled a background by using So swirly with black ink onto a white 12in sheet of cardstock. We then added a third colour of choice using sponges and daubers. Each participant picked their own colour – some used tempting turquoise, only orange, pretty in pink, pink passion – interestingly every page looked fabulous. Some of us used some matching plain cardstock and turned them into 4 different six inch pages and the others made two 5in square cards. These were my sample cards using……..yes, you guessed it! Purely pomegranate!! We all adorned our pages using the coordinating stamp set – Priceless.

This month there was some homework – each member had to use their scraps to create something completely new. Some were engrossed in finishing their pages and did a great job adding these pages straight into their scrapbooks. I have one friend who comes along who I love dearly, but would describe as a scally wag! I now no longer wash my floors before stamp club nights because of her efforts in opening the champagne that we consume while we work. Yep, truly is the highlight of my SU! month!!!!!! Now, back to the scally wag’s efforts……well here it is….Leanne is holding up her ‘work’. She tells us that these are her bookmarks. One for short books and one for long books PMSL. Mel, another member of my stamp club made some real bookmarks so we took a picture to compare,……. Hmmmmm think I like Mel’s better. Leanne always has us in stitches and stamp club is soooo much fun!! Love ya Leanne!!!!

We made love notes and a box to put them all in this month and next month we plan to have a stamp a stack. We just decide each month what we’ll do next month – everyone stays happy – everyone gets a chance to do what they’d like!!

Are you interested in starting a stamp club? If you can get to Camden and would like to stamp away a Friday night each month – send me an e-mail (sharon@lvh.com.au)and we can start another group on an alternative Friday night. I usually charge just $10 and that includes everything you need , sometimes people put in an order, sometimes they don’t!

Card by Caitlin

This really is as gorgeous as it looks! Caitlin, my 10 year old daughter watercoloured the dog (she did a practice one then the real one) and also made the tag using markers. I put the background together , tied the knot and the ribbon etc…..but essentially it is her card. I love these colours together and the whole card was inspired by this fab ribbon – part of the ACN packaging ribbon club for August…………………must go check them out – really are gorgeous. She was very happy with her efforts – a card for a friend who she is staying with tonight as part of her birthday celebrations!!

Sneak peak at mini catalogue stuff……

Image Copyright Stampin’ Up! 1990 -2008

This is made with a great stamp set – One of a kind – my new favourite – STOP LAUGHING!!!!!!! It has the matching punch so you can just pop these gorgeous flowers out as quick as a flash!! The colours in this are river rock , purely pomegranate and groovy guava. The large flowers I have watercoloured using the ink pads and then cut them out…….not too bad – only 4!! The rest are stamped and then popped out. The sentiment is gorgeous and stamps so beautifully , as you’d expect with stampin’ Up! stamps. Do you love this…?…..Oh I forgot to mention that the images in this set match the images in the berry bliss papers!!!! Stay tuned for more sneak peaks. Remember if you want to see the catalogue, just e-mail me (sharon@lvh.com.au)……I send one straight back to you!! This stuff goes on sale August 1st…….

Seeing spots in Bondi ……

LOL!!! I was reading a blog the other day and the author was saying how hard it is to come up with names for their posts……………I do agree , but I reckon it is also the best bit….I know, I’m weird LOL!!!

Now yesterday I promised to show you the second card we made at Bondi……so here it is!

Image © Stampin’ Up! 1990 – 2008

Guess what I was doing when I took this photo LOL!!!!

This was done using my fave set………On the spot background stamp  and Seeing spots stamp set. The colours are river rock, soft sky and groovy guava. The cute little hole in the front was done with the tab punch!! It was punched from the bottom and then I turned the card through 90 ° and punched again!! Clever huh! The soft sky mat for the guava scalloped circle was done with two tab punches as well. These are stick on top of each other at 90° as well………………cute huh!!

You should book a workshop so I can teach more of you to make this card …..go on, contact me today!!!  sharon@lvh.com.au

Sunday at Bondi……….

Well, this is what I did today……..spent a lovely day with a group of ladies from all over Sydney. This workshop (they have had a few by now LOL) I traveled to Bondi to work with Salina and her friends……….all 20 of them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We had a great time, my kids and DH explored Bondi and also had fun. We arrived back home just a few minutes ago and dinner is sizzling away in the oven. Do you want to see what we made???? I’ll show you a card today and another on Monday (after I photograph it – I changed the design from the original…………). Now I was very privileged today as I had workshop guest fly from Kuala Lumpar this morning to be with us and another two from melbourne to join in the fun !!!!! See, the fun at my workshops is worth traveling the globe for LOL!!!!

This card is inspired by the talented Alisa and highlights the lovely effect that Stampin’ Pastels can give to a card. The images all come from the one set – the best thing about SU! – Petal prints really is the most versatile set.The foxgloves have been stamped with versamark and coloured with my pastels and trusty pastel applicator tool (hehehehe remember just $5 !!!!!!) with pumpkin pie, summer sun and old olive mixed with garden green. The outline image has been inked with pumpkin pie and stamped over the top. My cropadile was used to set four little eyelets – one in each corner. TIFA needs one of these LOL!!! Hint HINT!! (I know how she can get one for 20% off ……….I can send her the forms today!!!) That image is then mounted onto wild wasabi CS and then pumpkin pie CS. The daisy outline image is stamped randomly on the pumpkin strip (with the samecolour ink) and the wild wasabi striped ribbon is tied around the strip. The card base is stamped with the same colour ink (wild wasbi) and then everything gets stuck down, after a bit of fussing with the daubers and the main image is on stampin dimensionals for added effect.

Cool huh!!!

I lurve this card and can see it done in a hundred different colour combinations ——hhmmm an idea for a class. We could make a cover for them and use it as a gift…What do you think??? Want to come to a class like that???

My sister’s creations

These are a couple of cards my sister has made for her boss. We have both been commissioned a lot lately to help with albums or make cards that people pay for. She has been asked to make some cards for her boss to replace some she bought from us some time back.

Poor Nicole is really crook with the flu ……….. so on the coldest day of the year we both decide to clean up our sess pool ……….. to start to make it look like a swimming pool. Big job but if we start now it will look good and be usable the next school holidays when I am sure it will be great to swim…….anyone under 20 swims in September…..I swim for two weeks in January LOL……….

These are so clever….I think she found some cards very like      these on split coast stampers for inspiration…………

Love note bundle….

Image © Stampin’ up! 1990 – 2008

Here are the cards (and box lid in the upper left corner ) that I made for my aunt……I actually made it as a test run for this month’s stamp club meeting but decided to give hese to her on Saturday night. They are made with the palette of prints pad from the promotion in May and use the rivetting set from the last catalogue. I am waiting on the circle of friendship set …….. that’s a whole other story though.

I was really happy with these. These were made using some love notes, so each has it’s own – very cute – envelope that I decorated to match and I love the colours. The box lid is a 5in square (I used double sided paper) scored at 1.8cm along each side ……..a little slit at the corners on one of the score line, then just tick them in as you fold. Add a drop of glue and you have a lid. The base of the box (not shown) was made with vanilla (to match the love notes I used) in a 7in square and scored at 4.5cm on each side and constructed the same way.

My aunt pointed out that she could use the box to give a gift and she could use the cards for all sorts of reasons…………..this is so fun to make. I have some white love notes left from the pack so I think I will make another Hehehehehehe…….way fun. I think stamp club will love these boxes and cards next week – what do you think….????????

Here is version two completed with a customer and friend last night….waving to Angie…….LOL!!!!
