Christmas preparation begins……

Yes, it is true……I plan to do my Christmas cards way before the 22nd of december. For the last two years I have been found burning the midnight oil doing Christmas Cards (making them that is!!!!) 3 days before Christmas. Which, is really stupid because most of the people I send them to go away on boxing day LOL!!! That means there is a nice handmade surprise for them in their mail sometime towards the end of january LOL!!!.

This year is going to be different!!! I’m starting……..soon PMSL!!!! This is a card that I made to use at a workshop to be held on friday. It is sooooooooo easy but looks sooooooo luxuorious care of the gorgeous satin ribbon from our current mini catalogue. I have pierced the dots in the swirl and under the merry christmas sentiment and softened the edges of the white piece using some pomegranate ink on a sponge……love them sponges!!!!

The second card is also elegant but in a different way. It uses the patterned paper from the mini catalogue and is teamed with bravo burgundy…………such a lovely colour combination – my new fave I’d have to say!!! This is also really easy – just utilises good colours and lots of layering.

Now, both these designs came from the talented gals at Split coast stampers where I just searched on the stamp set that I had (Season of Joy) found some cards for inspiration and tweaked them…….so many great ideas and saves a heap of time too.

These cards will be completed by customers at Liz’s workshop. If you’d like to stamp cards like this with your friends and you are within an hour from Camden, just drop me a line and we’ll make a date!!! Maybe I can help you get started on your Chrissy cards soon…..

BAD BLOGGER!! Bad , bad blogger……..

I know, I have neen really really slack. I’m afraid it isn’t going to get much better with lots and lots on……but here is somethin’ I donedud today when I should have been doing other things……

This is a pen holder – a very bad photo of a pen holder – that I made to use at a very special event to be held later this month…….I’ll tell you more in a few days………..

The pens had some patterned paper wrapped around them and then a layer of clear contact over that. The holder had some rubon’s placed around and the cropadile was used to punch two holes through the plastic – like a hot knife through butter – so I could pass the olive ribbon through. The large flower is from the pretties kit and the centre is a scallop punch in navy. I love how this turned out and have a few ideas for a couple of others………look good on my messy desk at work LOL!!!!

This would be a great project to do with kids…….they could decorate the pen containers they should have have on their study desks at home………..

Thought I’d let you know what I plan to do over the next few weeks ………….

1. Get ready for the STITCHES & CRAFT show at Rosehill racecourse later in August YYIIPPPEEEEEEE!!!!

2. Complete some Christmas swaps that I have joined with some other demonstrators……… YYIIPPPPEEEEEEE!!

3. Make 40 graduation cards for the great kids I teach this year YYIIIIPPPPPEEEEEE!!!

Yep, you have to love this Stampin’ Up! stuff….

A scarecrow for you!

This is a card I have just thrown together for a friend I will meet for lunch on Sunday. I’m very excited to catch up with her – haven’t seen her since convention in April and we never did get a chance to catch up properly.

The main stamp on this card is one that i picked up at a garage sale for $2. I was wary that it wouldn’t stamp real well. A risk when you buy stamps that aren’t new. This can happen because the rubber has been left to dry out or the foam padding is starting to perish.

So be warned !! Buying used stamps can be a costly mistake….has happened to me before but for just $2 I was willing to risk it LOL!!!

I have coloured this gorgeous scarecrow with SU watercolour pencils and the cardstock is all SU!(earth elements) as is the gorgeous kraft taffeta ribbon. The sentiment is from the fabulous level one hostess set with heaps of great sayings……………….will post some other stuff later……..

OOOOOOO I nearly forgot!! The mini catalogue sale period has started!!!! Contact me to order any of the new sets…….I’ll get them to you in a flash!!!!
