Life is like a box of chocolates……

chockie-box……………….especially when you have everything you need to make your gifts for Christmas. I’ve just finished making this box and I’m a bit happy about it. The acetate sheet I have used could be more sturdy – but it has worked out just fine. I have used the Holiday Harmony designer paper from the current mini catalogue along with die cut stickers and gorgeous double satin ribbon. These products will no longer be available after November (in the short term at least). So………………if you’d like to look at the mini(I have heaps left!!) or you’d like to order some of these products, you will have to yell out quick – I’d hate to think you will miss the opportunity to get some great gifts made……for a small cost but a huge impact.

I too, plan on grabbing some more stuff before the mini ends – I NEED some snowflake chipboard to make some decorations to give to the staff I work with. This will work out to be less than $3 a gift compared to the $5 I had to spend last year on a little decoration each. $3 should see them well decorated and even packaged read for giving – a complete and utter bargain…….

Now – I have to tell you a ‘typically male ‘ story – was making the box and I happen to say to hubby that I’d love some lollies to put in the bag so he nicely ducked down the road (at 10pm) …… and bought the smallest bag of wrapped lollies I have ever seen LOL!! To give you an idea – the box is as high as the smaller end of A4 and it is packed with tissue paper top and bottom to give it a fuller look…….funny!!!

Contact me today if you’d like to grab some mini products before they disappear………………………

On the brilliance of Carol!

My stamping friend Carol , is just way too clever. The card below is an unadulterated CASE of her fantastic work! Why change perfection? LOL!! Carol always comes up with the most innovative ideas. Her version of this card was showcased on our team forum and she hasn’t posted it on her blog yet. But I have to tell you, it really is the most spectacular – yet surprisingly DOABLE card I’ve done recently!! What a mouthful!!

I made this for a wedding I attended, where the colours ended up being grey, black , white and pale blue!! Certainly a fluke but it made me happy to think that I made them match. I monogramed the envelope to make it more personal…….

It was made using the so swirly wheel inked with versamark and then embossed with clear powder. The bottom edge was scalloped using the corner rounder punch with the guard removed.

The main piece was layered, white cardstock, basic grey textured CS and finally bashful blue. The white piece was sponged using basic grey ink and the swirls were also stamped with this. The stamp set used was Priceless that coordinates with the So swirly wheel. Styled silver hodgepodge was placed on top using the great matching brads that come in the kit.

The heart from so swirly was stamped in versamark and then straight away placed on the bashful blue inkpad and then onto a scrap of whisper white cardstock. While the ink is still wet, heat and stick powder is added and melted with the heat gun and then dazzling diamonds sprinkled over the top. A quick blast of the heat gun again will set the glitter. The heart was then cut out and stuck on with dimensionals.

One reason the glittering  process doesn’t work as well is if your versamark needs reinking. ALWAYS have a bottle of ink refill for your versamark – if you keep the pad well inked, your embossing and glitter results will improve greatly.

Drop me a line if you would like to place an order – don’t forget to add a refill for your versamark, it will be the best few dollars you spend!  sharon@lvh.com.au
