*These sets will appear on the upcoming list of retiring products, so they will only be available for the Bushfire Appeal–while supplies last.

This is the great contribution that Stampin’Up! have made to the bushfire Appeal in Victoria. 50% of the sales of these stamp sets will be donated to the Red Cross Bushfire Appeal between now abd the end of March, while stocks last. They intend to keep us posted with the totals, so I’ll let you know how it all goes.

Don’t forget that i am donating ALL the money that I earn from every sale this month to the Appeal. I have paid retail for my orders, by donating the extra to the appeal. This is a small addition to the greater good. They will need so much, which makes all the little donations so much more important. At least by ordering some stamps, you can stamp to soothe your soul and maybe even make some cards and albums for the victims – while at the same time, a donation will be made. If you would like more details on the cards and albums drive, contact me via e-mail and I’ll send you on an information sheet.

There are six sets on the list with an *. These will be leaving us forever once they are sold out, so if they are on your wish list you will need to act quickly. If you remember how quickly things soldout last retirement list, you will understand the advice to not hesitate. I know I will miss Looks like Spring, Bodacious bouquet and Be Happy…..love them all and I’ll need to get g’day mate before it retires……great chance to stock up on old faves.

Oh, and don’t forget that EVERYTHING purely pomegranate, river rock, soft sky, wild wasabi, groovy guava and blue bayou will definitly be retiring. So if you have ink pads you might want to grab the reinkers, or even some stitched ribbon, cardstock and any of the patterned papers before they become scarce.

Now, with the stamps listed above and the incolour supplies, you might be heading to a total of $100 or more, GREAT!! because you can earn yourself a salebration set for free. Now, this can only happen if you order before the end of February – so hurry!!! Contact me today and you could be playing with new stamps in a week!!!

Another great mini catalogue card….and even more donation opportunity.

embrace-life3 Hi….I’ve been trying to upload this card for a while now – but it seems WordPress is not playing nicely. Anyway – this time it seems to have worked. We also made this at my stamping event on Sunday with the girls…….it isn’t my usual colour choice, but I think I like this. It is made using bashful blue cs and ink with flowers from embrace life stamped on white and given a wash with pretty in pink ink using my aqua painter. We cut them out and then dotted crystal effects on each of the anthers……….. The background on the card base has linen stamped onthe top half and the leaf sprigs from the embrace life set. The pretty in pink ribbon has had the ‘embrace life’ sentiment stamped in whisper white across the ribbon………which looks great.

I have stamped on a white piece I have stuck to the inside, to complete my obsession at late – to make the inside of cards attractive too.

close-up-of-ribboninside-embraceYou can kind of see some of the details in these pictures here. This is a very soft and sweet card that I think I will make a few more of and send off to some friends I haven’t heard from in a while.

If you would like to make this card with your friends, contact me today and we can book a date!!!       sharon@lvh.com.au

Now, while I’ve got you here – don’t forget my donation for stamps deal where every order will see about 20% of the retail costs being donated to the Bushfire Appeal. Stampin Up! has been amazing as usual and has decided to make up a list of stamp sets where they intend to donate half (50%)the $$$ from the sales of each of these sets until the end of March!!! But demonstrators are also excited, because some of these will be on the retired list that will be released on March 1st. These sets will only be available until stocks last. That means if you order these sets then the appeal will be getting 70% of the price – an absolutely brilliant donation I say!! Great excuse to but stamps. Some of these sets I will be getting before they leave there are some that I will want for my own use down the track. I will post complete details later today and leave them up the top so they can be easily referenced.

I think I will have to organise a retirement event – so we can farewell the old catalogue. What do you think???? Speaking of old catalogues, I have a ton here I would love to move to make room for the new catalogue that will be here before we know it…………..if you’d like one, then contact me and I’ll let you have it for the absolute steal of $5…….great ideas etc. I have a complete collection on my inspirational shelf and often use them for layout ideas and colour inspiration. A must!!!!!

A card to drool over….

………….not one of mine…..actually one of Teneales. (Of course!!!).  I used the card shown here as inspiration for this card we made on Sunday for my customer/teamstamping event.I love this card and plan to shrink the design to make 3 in love notes……. teneale is such an artist…..I could only handle making one embellishment using tea bag folding – Teneale handles three easily…………..after my friends made one they were really glad I modified the design slightly, but basically it is a Teneale card LOL!!!!

mostly-flowers1It would make a very elegant card for any occasion. I actually decorated the inside (surprise, surprise…) by using a piece of whisper white cardstock and stamped a red image, like that used on the front, on point (so it looks like a diamond) to give the inside some class as well. It really didn’t take that long to make……..

The colours are real red and whisper white (great for valentines day) using the mostly flowers stamp set on whisper white CS and also some photocopy paper (to make the folded pieces – keeps it thinner and more manageable…………Teneale shows you how to fold these on the link above. I would advise using a big square to practise on. I then used a half pearl from the pretties kit to hide where the pieces join up.

The real red grosgrain adds even more texture and a luxury that I seem to always need on my cards LOL!!

I’ll be back with the other card we made.

Update – Have one order…………….so I have made $20 donation on that customers behalf and $20 for my order…..keep them coming. See the posts below and customers should check their inbox for details on how we are giving to the fund!!

What an incredible, devastating week in this countries history………..

pizza-box5 Well, devastation has taken Victoria…………….so unconceivable but also sad and unfortunate.

I really hope that the communities that have been destroyed can stick together and rebuild their diminished structures and support those who will need to find new normals again with the loss of loved ones. Such a terrible tragedy – on every level – for sooo many families in Victoria. I understand how scary it is to be evacuated and wonder how things are back at your home, I hope I never have to experience the loss of all things worldly to my family and even worse, the loss of loved ones as they attempt to save the life they know………..I have nothing else……

I also have thoughts for North Quennsland residents who have endured ridiculous rains now for over 40 days and 2/3 of the state is now declared a disaster area…………..luckily no direct loss of life – but plenty of lives are going to be turned upside down and property and livelihoods will be destroyed……………what a irony this land of ours delivers!!!

I’m trying hard to think of a way we can all help……………….think I might hold a crop night here at home and the proceeds can be donated to the fire relef fund that the Vic government and Red Cross have set up. I understand they are after $$$ essentially as goods are so difficult and lengthy to store sort and distribute. Money will allow people to get out there andget what they need. Anyone else have any ideas………………………………………….????????

I had some demonstrators from my team and customers here throughout Sunday creating away. I put together three projects that we worked on. The demonstrators started with this cute little flip top box. I was lucky enough to receive one of these from my upline Tracey, and I have totally ripped it off for us to make. It is so easy and effective. We filled it with yummy chocolate I picked up at Aldi. inside-boxIt held 9 littole choc sticks that come individually wrapped. Everyone loved that. After we finished we had some customers and potential recruits for some of my downlines join us to make two more cards – once again rip offs from other demonstrators LOL!! I will show you these later this week.

We had a great afternoon stamping – it was great to get together and create and I think everyone else was inspired to go home and get stamping again.

NOW SALEBRATION IS NEARLY OVER………………… YOU ONLY HAVE UNTIL THE END OF THE MONTH TO GET YOUR FREE STAMPS. I’m thinking that I would like to donate the profits from sales for the remainder os salebration to the Victorian fire relief. That means if you order $100 worth of product and pay for it with postage added, you will get a FREE stamp set from the Salebration catalogue and I will donate approx $20 straight to the relief fund. If I can get a few people ordering that could reach $100 easily……………so come one – get those stamps you desperately want and help the victims of this horrific disaster…………..

A baby boy card….

elephantOk….here is a card I meant to show you a while back. This is a card for a cute little baby boy….made using Bundle of Joy and Wild for you…………I used the bundle of joy to make the background on the bashful blue CS and then tied a knot around the card with that gorgeous extra wide double stitched grosgrain that is in the mini catalogue. I pushed a decorated hatpin from the pretties kit through the knot . The elephant is from the wild about you set and he was inked up using markers and has barely bana flower and bird and also cute corners made using the corner punch. The brads are also bashful blue and this panel is added using dimensionals.

I think the elephant looks like he is suffering a thyroid problem as he has a gogglie eye stuck on top……oh well……I think he has  certain amount of charm

lol…….. We are in for a scorcher this weekend here in Sydney – catching up with the rest of Oz, so we’ll be sympathasising with those in Vc, SA and WA………I have two stamping events at my place on Sunday and have no imagination to come up with interesting, unique projects so I have shamelessly CASED some from fellow stampers. I will show you these over the weekend………..I have made samples and will cut up the cardstock on Saturday……also made a huge mess……OH well…up at 6am in the morning to clean the house before the heat takes hold……..

Stay cool and safe!

Ok….back to normal programming ….I hope!!

sunny-boyIt has been a little manic here since starting back at school. My kids are now all settled into their classes and I am doing my best to get a good routine going. I am struggling with the temps and humidity we are experiencing. My Year 8 class are studying weather at the moment and the day before yesterday measured the relative humidity inside a classroom at 10am and discovered it was nearly 80%. No, we don’t have air conditioning in ANY of the classrooms I am lucky enough to teach in LOL!! The staffroom has had it’s ac fixed – luckily because we actually use a tine shed as our staffroom LOL!!!

This is a ’sunny boy’ container that I made full of choccies for one of the guys I work with. He always goes on LSL at the end of the year, so misses out on his Christmas pressie – so I take him something at the beginning of each year. This was made with our double sided patterned paper – strong enough to hold them all really well.

1. Cut a rectangle (a size that suits your purpose – better when it is twice as long as it is wide , but any combo will work) and use sticky strip down the long side .

2. Stick the long sides together to to make a tube. Place some sticky strip across one end of the tube (the length of sticky strip should be half it’s measurement. Stick the tube closed at that end and pop the end into the crimper and turn the handle about 1/2 a revolution and remove.

3. Turn the tube around just 90 degrees so the other end will close at right angles to the first and add a piece of sticky strip and repeat step 2. NOW – MAKE SURE YOU PUT YOUR GOODIES IN FIRST !!! Just a trap there for young players…..LOL!!!

4. I added a jumbo eyelet and made a tag using the coolest of the salebration sets called YUMMY! If you would like this set you only have a few weeks to get it! Contact me with an order that has a value of $100 and you can get this  FREE……only until the end of February – never, ever again ……

Hopeftagully things will get back to normal and you will see more creations again – my mojo was left on holidays I think LOL

Now…..anyone who feels like a trip to Camden on Sunday…………I have a workshop here at home where we will be making some cards for FREE…just reserve your spot via e-mail (sharon@lvh.com.au) …only a few left………..
