Wallet full of love…..pt2

This is the other card we my at my workshop this weekend. It is also a bit difficult, but very effective. A great card for the man in your life….it is shaped like a wallet. This is not my idea at all, I actually remember seeing the very clever, Leonie make these and I think they were quite popular twelve months ago around Father’s day.
It uses one piece of close to cocoa CS, with 1.5in cut off the length and then cut in half long ways. You will need both pieces, one for the outside and the other for the inside. Both pieces are stamped using the weathered background stamp using close to cocoa ink. I usually fold in half and just ink one half of the piece at a time. The edges are then pierced using the paper piercer & mat pack and the ‘thread’ is drawn in with the fine tip of a choc chip marker. The inside is also stamped with the weathered stamp and about 2mm get trimmed off each short edge so the piece fits nicely inside the cover. The edges are paper pierced and ‘threaded’ using the marker. In four places, I have used the word window punch to make little slots to tuck notes into. On the back of the outside sheet I have stuck two 8cm square pieces of patterned paper (Windsor knot)to form the lining……..Both layers are then adhered using sticky strip or snail and pressed together firmly. Be sure to just apply the adhesive around the perimeter.
The Fathers Day stamp comes from the occasion set and is stamped using close to cocoa ink on creamy caramel cardstock. I have pierced the edge of that and stuck onto the front using dimensionals.
The tab that seals the wallet is made with a strip about 7cm long and about 1.5cm wide, stamped with the weathered stamp, paper pierced etc…..I have also stuck a magnet on the inside of the tab and on the front of the wallet to simulate the press stud on a wallet.
The four little pockets mean that you (or your kids) can write little notes to their father…….very cute. My kids did this for my husband last year…..
All items appearing in bold are available for purchase by contacting me. I can organise a class so you and your friends can make this too. My e-mail is sharon@lvh.com.au
