Wedding burgundy bliss
This is a card I whipped up tonight to give to a friend/customer for her wedding this weekend. I have actually made the invites, servce booklets and the placecards. Her colours were bravo burgundy with very vanilla…..so, so elegant. Actaully the more I look at this card, the more I think this will be a great colour combo for this Christmas. The card is designed to match the invites – I have used the same colour combo and also stamp set. It really is quite elegant. I had this gorgeous piece of mega wide double cream satin ribbon that was crying out to be used on this card….so I did….this ribbon is enough to make the focal point of this card. The rose image is stamped from the fifth avenue set and embossed onto watercolour paper and coloured with an aqua painter and inkpad.
I will show you the invites etc later in the week.
I have stamped the “Mr and Mrs” stamp from the Occasions set – such a great versatile set – on scrap card stock and embossed in silver. I punched it out with the small oval and then embossed the edges using a little versamrk and silver powder.
I decorated the inside………I have used a piece of vanilla and then added a strip of lace punched burgundy which is accented with a tiny strip of cream with burgundy rose stamped on it – this is actually a stip of left over CS that comes off every time you stamp a scallop or lace border. I use these strips all the time – they are really fine and are straight LOL…. here is a big picture of the card.

A few of you have already booked into our CHRISTMAS FRENZY CLASS but we are taking as many who want to come……don’t forget to register your interest by e-mailing sharon@lvh.com.au and pay before the 30th to secure your spot on the night OR mail out kit.

Happy Halloween!!

I’m being attacked by my tween!! She is off to a halloween sleep over and really looking forward to it. She wanted to make {code for – ‘Will you make something mum??} a small gift for the hostess and thought that following the halloween theme would be a good idea as Beth just loves halloween, hence her mum giving in and allowing a whole lot of girls to come over for a sleepover. My sister did Cait’s make -up and what a great job she did!….I made yet another notebook for Beth, using up some scrapping stuff that I’ve had forever……..altogether this gift cost less than $5…..including the lollies I put in the bag – used up some paper, ribbon and scrap cardstock. The card on the bag is a total case from the very, very clever Jayne Mercer……this is just such a great idea…….just like all her ideas!!
Thinking about doing a class on making these notebooks………anyone interested?????
Happy halloween…….from my crazy house to yours!!!

Birthday gifts by two……
While I was busy at Stamp Camp this weekend, my eldest daughter attended a birthday party for two of her mates – beautiful twin girls. Twelve year old girls are easy to please….especially when you make it all about them. So as a gift idea, I bought each an Angus and Robertson bookstore voucher and made each a personalised gift card wallet to store them in. I hung these from gift bags that contained the greatest little journals. These journals are A3 in size and are as cheap as chips – think they are actually under $3. So they make a great and cheap gift for teenage girls.
This gift card wallet is just those I have posted below. I did jazz them up a bit by lining the pocket and the back with patterned paper.
‘K” or Katie, had the brighter pinks from a retired patterned paper that SU! had out a couple of years ago and last year they had the same paper in muted tones that was perfect for her sister ‘C’ or Claire.

These were easy but very satisfying to make.

These are actually ditto notebooks that have ovals cut out of the cover. Hence why they are covered (both front and back) as well as the lining has been covered with coordinating paper. The covers have been punched through using the cropadile (or big bite) and I have threaded ribbon through to make a place to put a pen as well as using the ribbon to tie the book closed.I have used scallop circles to make flush little tabs to section off the book. This idea is totally CASED from a blog I’m trying to remember – as soon as I do I will pop up a link. The clever lady I saw had used this idea to make holiday journals to get organised for Christmas……such a great idea. She had stuck envelopes into the front and back covers to make little pockets for receipts and recipes etc……
I’m off to catch up on my school reports and I need to get going with the 100 place cards I am making for the wedding stationary I have been involved with. Once I have finished those I will take pictures of the ‘complete set’ for you to see…….til later

HUGE Thank You’s
I would like to say a HUGE thank you to the great friends and customers (they are the same people!!!!) who attended our Stamp Camp just yesterday…….I thought we all had a great time and it certainly was satisfying to hear that most of you had a great time too. I was thoroughly impressed with how you all got in and tried new things and was wrapped to see you leave with completed projects and a promise to make another………..as an incentive…..heheheh…….the first person to e-mail me a photo of another completed stationary box will receive 12 note cards and envelopes that you can use in the next two – these make great small cards to use in these boxes……..so the challenge is on……e-mail that photo to sharon@lvh.com.au. This incentive is just for those who came along on the 24th of October…….
It was also encouraging to hear so many of you were thinking of joining us on December 4 for our card frenzy which we will call build-a-card…….fab, quick cards that you can just slap together and pop in the post!!
Other HUGE thank you’s need to go to Lana, who of course designed this particular box {We’ve got our thinking caps on for some projects like this out of the new – yet to be seen – mini catalogue that will begin in December.}. She is such a quiet little talent who enjoyed yesterday as much as I did. We work really well together and I think we put on a pretty great event – only possible with such a great and ‘easy’ collaboration. Although she vows that she will fight me to the death for the air con next time hehehehehehe
The other thank you’s go to my sister who came along as a go girl, to do all those things we needed….and also got a chance to do some school work while she sat watching us stamp………and of course, my hubby who provided the venue and fussed over us all day (and his staff who put up with not being able to find their coffee cups ’cause we’d ‘tidied’ them up LOL……..).
So all in all, I’m wrapped and hope you gals are too. Of course we’d also like some honest feedback – valuable when trying to make great events like this get even better………it would be boring to me if they were all perfect! So if there is something you’d like to comment on, I’d love to hear your feedback – you can e-mail it through to sharon@lvh.com.au.
With Love,
Sharon xxxxxxxxx♥

Stamp club projects 3 and 4 and a fabulous cause.

So here are the last two things we made at Stamp club this week. Two little gift card wallets – easily hold a gift card and also room to write a little message.
Funny …….. I actually made 200 of the Christmas gift card wallets on the evening before stamp club for a local charity I sometimes do little things for. The charity is The African Aids foundation (AAF) and they will use them to hold sponsorship cards. Instead of a traditional store gift card, they will hold a gift card that can be bought for a friend and the money will go to a great cause or project AAF sponsors….e.g. for just a few dollars you can sponsor a child a pair of school shoes for them to attend school or sponsor a food parcel for the volunteers who work with the Aids patients. These amazing women travel around vast distances each and every day visiting families with seriously ill Aids patients, helping them out, checking in with them etc. While they do this for no money, they also need to feed their families, so a sponsor here in Australia can give money to help buy the volunteer food etc. The other great thing you can ‘buy’ is a market garden for a family struggling to make ends meet. For those of you who were unaware, there are literally millions of young children without any familiy to care for them. Older members of the community(this part of the community have a lower AIDS affliction rate) have taken on the responsibility of caring for children. When there is no one, they need to be placed in orphanages. This is another area AAF have put lots of money as well as time and effort into. They send over people from our community here in Camden, to lend skills etc to help out and more importantly, spread the word when they return. If you are interested in helping them, any small amount does good. This fund has ALL it’s administration costs covered by its leader, our doctor, John Schwartz. That means every $$$$ gets to where it will do the most good.
So with 200 sponsorships available, they hope to sell them off at a dinner here in Camden early in November – it is great night, why not buy a ticket and come along!!!

Stamp camp this Saturday
I have the absolute delight and pleasure of hosting my first stamp camp. This is a joint Davis/Harvey adventure LOL…where lana and I are teaming up to share a day with 12 of our most valued customers and friends. This booked out really quickly and unfortunately we can only accomodate 12 people with this intricate and gorgeous design (which is designed by Lana). We will get together around 10am and after a heart starter fire into making the box that will hold the 12 cards we will get done during the day. By lunchtime, we hope to be ready to dive into the cards. Lana and I have a great homecooked menu planned, always yummier that way!
What are we making??? Remember this post way back?? This is the box and cards we will be completing.
This is such a versatile project, both lana and I have made many of these for friends and colleagues over the last year. In fact, in preparation for this class, we have at least 4 other themes in this project to show our guests on the day. Each person will receive detailed instructions so they can make it again, along with the rest of a 1/2 share of the beautiful Parisian breeze DSP, which is perfect for this project as it is a textured cardstock, so really, really sturdy for the box.
We are planning another event for the 4th of December where we hope we can all finish up the cards we will need to send out then to all our friends and families. Lana has already started her Christmas cards, but I will be making mine along with the people who sign up for this fun night. We plan to give away HEAPS of prizes on that night – after all, Christmas will be close then!!! If you’d like to join us on this evening here in Camden, just pop an e-mail to me (sharon@lvh.com.au) and I can give you more details. We are hoping for a very large, fun and loud crowd!!!
