Wheelin’ deal!!!
Time to remind you all of the great deal Stampin’Up! have this month. They have 6 of the best stamps in the catalogue being sold this month (ONLY!!) as a bundle that includes the jumbo wheel that coordinates with the stamp set. Yep, that means a FREE jumbo wheel with these sets. I already own three of these bundles and think there may be an order for one or two more of them with this great special.
This here chocolate cover was made using one of my favourites ! This one is the Carte postale bundle (which includes the leaves laCarte) and uses the stamp set that I have used for the central medallion. This was the hostess gift for my workshop held earlier today. This was made with my fave colour combo of Sahara sand and very vanilla. This combo hasn’t seen the light of day much lately but with it matching the coffee cup so well…how could I refuse?
The other stamp sets available as a bundle are
* Priceless bundle (which includes so swirl- see post below) for $48.95
* Merry, merry (which includes the All about Christmas wheel) for $45.95)
* Artfully Asian (with water colour vine wheel) for $45.95
* Nursery necessities (which includes nursery letters) for $56.95
* Bodacious Bouquet (which includes the bouquet wheel ) for $58.95
This truly is fab! A saving of $15.95 in each case. If you’d like to order, then drop me a line by e-mailing sharon@lvh.com.au. Go on….I’m putting in an order today LOL!!!!Customers should receive a newsletter in the next day or so that will offer instructions on how to make these very cool chockie covers (for the lindt choc I have used , although they are way too easily adapted for whatever chocolate you’d like!)
The gorgeous medallion in the middle was made using punches and the Carte Postale set with a gorgeous flat back cream pearl from the pretties kit……..the first real time I have cracked that bit open…..and I luuurrve them….think you will be seeing them more often!!! LOL!!!

Carly’s album cover…..
In an earlier post I was teling you about a 6 inch album we were making for a 21st. Well it is finally done. We have bound it with our fab bind it all and I really love it. The recipient will receive it this evening. We last night decided to make a smaller version with blank pages for her guests to record funny or unforgetable times they have spent with Carly over the years. We hope this brings them joy too……….. I was going to show you lots of this album and I will. But I will be offering it as a class later this year, perhaps in early August, where in 2 afternoons you can have an album just like this to keep or give as a gift.
This really was a quickie……..done in two evenings…….bound, covered and decorated. The pages are all decorated with the so swirly wheel and the Priceless stamp set…….you will love it as much as me I think. Really simple colour selection – black, white and mellow moss. No variation on that at all….I think that makes for an elegant album that concentrates on the photos……. I usually like my work (what’s the surprise in that, everything I don’t like ends up in the ’round filing cabinet’) but I really love this. We have thick covers on this album and have actually added a very thick perspex cover front and back to further protect the work inside……..anyway, tell me what you think! Want to come do a class for this one????????

Here are the next two pages in this gorgeous album that Nicole has completed for a work colleague. You can see page one here…….The gorgeous chocolate striped paper was from the ‘recollections collection’ (now retired) and the cranberry just went so well ………looks good enough to eat. Some gorgeous ribbon slides from ‘making memories’ I think (they were enameled and just so luscious….), some gorgeous prima flowers along with the pretty ribbons picked up over the last couple of years. We are both ribbon collectors but reformed hoarders LOL!! We are using them!!! I promise !!!
Stay tuned……plenty more where these came from LOL!!
My scrapbooking efforts…..

Well I’ve shown you the kids work (see previous post…) now I thought I’d show you what I’ve done. It has been great to actually get some scrapping done . I did another page last night for an album that I am completing under commission….so I can’t show you that as I don’t have permission and it is a surprise birthday gift!
This is my gorgeous smiley kid, Caitlin……(although hormones make her more surly these days….LOL!) when she was about three. This picture has been in a frame for years and the glass broke……..YIPPEEE! I can scrap it now!
Not all my pages are all SU!..but this one is (edited to add – except for the prima of course!) The page is set on sahara sand and stamped in the same using Looks like spring. I have daubered the edges to take away the crispness of it. The stripe through the middle is using two pieces from the Spring Showers DP. The edges have been roughed up using the cutter kit. The title “Just be U” comes from All about you and is stamped in black and really rust (to match the papers). The piece through the middle of the photo is really rust with some pricking using the mat pack and roughed up using the cutter kit. The gorgeous (need to get me some more) ribbon is the wide grosgrain from the current min catalogue (available in cream, chocolate and celery). It is reall great to work with, soft and flexible and holds the knots really well. The bottom right hand corner has a message that I have made using the small sayings set. The stamp says – ‘my heart is with you’ I have inked it up with the rust marker and just inked ‘my heart is’ and then hand scripted ‘always’, then after cleaning the stamp just inked ‘with you’. So now it says “my heart is always with you’……cool huh!!
This shows you the little pocket with more detail. It is actually made using a piece in the pieces and pockets collection that is now retired….but it is just a pocket that has had a square window cut out ( you could do this really well with a square punch……we see those LOL!!) and a half circle cut from the top edge. It is in Kraft cardstock and stamped using the dotted harlequin stamp from looks like spring. The tag inside (yes…..it has journalling on the back!!) is made using very vanilla and the front is decorated using a collage of the images from the stamp set stamped in the colours that match the patterned paper – barely banana, sahara sand , really rust and bashful blue. The ‘c’ is done using upper case whimsical alpha. The top has a button (neutrals collection) and some linen cord to use as an anchor and a pull………The flower is a prima that I have coloured with bashful blue and the aqua painter.
All of these products are available from me for purchase…..sharon@lvh.com.au
Hope you like it……….
Scrapbooking with the family……
Sounds cheesy doesn’t it…………well it is quite stressful really LOL! But, they love it! I promised I’d upload a photo of their pages….indulge us for just a minute……….

The first photo is of maddy (aged 6) who is very pleased with her page……..and of course Jared (aged
who thinks he is pretty good with this stampin’ stuff….and finally Caitlin (aged 9) who is quite precise and careful with her work. The girls have used their cuttlekids to make the monkeys on their pages. They were very lucky to get this for Christmas…………………thanks for looking at their work, they will be pleased!!
Stay tuned for the page I have worked on this evening……will upload over the weekend. Thanks and bye for now,……………..
Candy cane holders!!
Want a great gift idea that your kids can make for their friends……
NB – This not my original idea……..and I’m unsure where I found it…SCS I think!
These are sooooo cool. This is the last of a batch of 100 that we have made for the school fete……….
They are made with a rectangle of red cardstock (or thick paper) for the back (7.5 cm x 21cm ) .
The front is just slightly smaller all round (in green). A piece of patterned paper is glued on top of the green, slightly smaller than that (so you get the layered look).
The front sheet has a slit cut from near the top with the word window punch from Stampin’ Up!©. This makes the slit for the candy cane.
Both the front and the back are glued together with a hot glue gun. YES…we did try every brand of sticky backed tape…..this works!! LOL!!!
The front can be decorated….stamped LOL!!….and there has been a hole punched in the top….waiting for me to add hangers for the Christmas tree…..
Hope they all sell…….I hate candy canes LOL!!!
Well it is November…….
and the year just seems to be slipping by……
Busy this month? Time to start on your Christmas cards……You will adore the new (limited edition ) double sided christams papers from Stampin’ Up!………They are a great price ($14.95 for 12 sheets!!!!) for thick double sided papers…..I’m going to get some to make some Christmas gifts .
The next great news is that there is still one more month to buy anything you love from the spring mini catalogue……………BUT just until the end of November….
Thirdly……remember about me telling you that Stampin’ Up! lost a very special member of their Australian family…?………Dave Abbott……….He really is our hero……..Stampin’ Up! are donating the proceeds of a limited prerelease stamp set to his family…….I’ve ordered mine……..have a look at the link below and the paper special (Holiday Thyme ) and this amazing deal (All in the family) are shown in real colour (just click on the links at the left…)
http://www3.stampinup.com/au/ena/118.asp
I am offering my own special……I will sell the stamp set (All in the family) for $59.15 plus postage. That means that I will earn nothing, but the Abbott family will get more money from the thousands of you who will love this set as much as I do!!
Cheers everyone !! Contact me today to organise your November order………
Fete ideas again………
These are great to make. I’ve made these totally out of scraps. They are made with scrap cardboard for the pages and thicker cardboard (like the stuff you find on the back of notepads) for the covers and then scrap patterned paper for the covers and scrap ribbon on the binding. The only thing that was bought was the binding wire. I used a bind-it-all to put then together. I plan to decorate the front with silk flowers and the like , but that is a Friday night (my craft night!!) job.
I reckon these will sell like hot cakes. Each one only cost about 40c (other than what we had around) and we can sell them for a few dollars each. The small ones are 4in square and the larger are 5.5in square. I have made divider pages using different colours and then punched matching tabs to attach to make them like mini index books. There are 9 or 10 and these were made in a couple of hours but I’m sure they will make some little boys and girls very happy!!! You can come and buy these at the Camden Public School Fete on the 9th of November (a Friday night) between 4pm and 9pm at my stall……………
Talk to you all again soon…………
Off the page and into the tin……part 2

Well…….someone else left too……STOP LAUGHING (the funniest thing is, that I have heaps of stuff waiting to upload about more people leaving……..)!!!!!
This one was a boy…….well a man really, retiring after many years at our Primary School. His tin was just like Samdra’s shown in part 1, but this time my sister and I used The lovely as a tree set and the Treehouse designer papers…….We were really happy with this. You can see in this photo that the back of each stamped page is a patterned sheet (that still has a message on it) which helps make it more colourful and quicker to decorate. We were really happy with this one……..as I said, my stamping club is completing their memory / saying tins on Friday night and I’ll have to photograph them so you can see……..it’s a real 3D kind of week.
I will be back with a birthday card for Number 2 son …….. he turns 8 on Thursday………never, never would have thought he would make it to this age without being strangled
Off the page and into the tin ……part 1
This is just gorgeous………was made by my sister and I as a retirement present for a special teacher at our Primary School who had been there since the ark! Sandra will hit me for that!
Each staff member wrote a lovely memory or wish and we turned this into a memento that she can keep forever! Much better than a card ! Oooopppps the cardmakers are hitting me now……..this is quite funny, I’m planning to change the name of this blog into “Leavers anon”…..because it is ALWAYS about someone leaving!!!!! I need some arrival stories now!!!
Images Copyright Stampin’ Up! 1990 – 2007
This was done just about all with Stampin’ Up! stuff……except for the chipboard S on the front (think that was bella)and the rose flourises (five kids and a dog). The theme we used was pulled together nicely with the recollections papers and the Wild Rose set as well as some Linen background. Used cranberry crisp ink and true thyme……..as well as confetti cream cardstock, vellum paper and of course…….lots of hodge podge……:-) She really loves it. We coated the tin with ModPodge so that it can be easily wiped over……..
I’d love to own one of these……..my stamp club group are creating their own min versions and I can’t wait to see their faces as they start to come together…..they are very satisfying!!!!!!!
