Here is the birthday card I will be handing over his weekend as we head off to Bendalong for a birthday bash for one of our special ‘holiday’ community members. Peter is having a fab party with family and friends coming to join us Bendy bunch for a great time together on the sand and in the surf.
It uses two cards stuck together to make pages. On the inside I have decorated to include pictures of our wonderful holiday retreat.(You can see one on the front!)
The stamp sets used on this project include – weathered BG, sanded BG, whimsical words (SAB 2010 set), baroque motifs, party hearty,
The cardstock and ink used include – kraft, whisper white, baja breeze, sahara sand.
Accessories include – chipboard, large silver brads (which are still available…just ask!!), twill tape, linen thread, assorted clips, round rimmed tags, corduroy buttons (now gone 😦 ) various punches, silver brads.
The box is designed to hold Bunnings gift cards that each member of our group is buying and the box is constructed using Sahara sand CS with a baja breeze lid. I have tied the box with twill and made a gift tag to go with it. Around the edge I have stamped the shell from Ocean commotion – which goes nicely with the beach theme.
The envelope is stamped with baroque motif (to match the pattern that is stamped in the chipboard ’60’) along with his name.
Personalising a gift like this makes the receipt of Bunnings vouchers all that more special LOL. Peter will enjoy checking out the photos throughout the card – which includes a shot of his holiday residence.
It really doesn’t take any extra time – the card took me about 45 minutes, but is really two cards joined together and the box took just 30 minutes, even with having to make the lid twice. The use of the right tools makes jobs easier – for e.g. the stamped circle that goes inside the large metal rimmed tags is easily achieved using the new large circle punch in the current mini catalogue……easy to stamp then punch – all done! Easy peasy!!
