Teachers get a thousand boxes of chocolate and a million packs of smelly things………….why not make a gift – doesn’thave to be expensive or ornate, but they love stationary – all of ’em, even the blokes. So grab yourself a notebook and cover it and personalise it for them………..this notebook was bout $5 and now loos a million dollars!! This is actually a secret santa gift a teacher friend will give a colleague who happens to be retiring next week. I was happy to help out, with this lovely lady teaching my eldest two I was happy to share my inspiration. The bottle contains rolled up questions about her career and the notebook is empty. The card explains that she should take out a question each day and glue it into the book and then hand write her response. She has a gorgeous 18 month old grandson and no doubt other grandchildren that will join her family who will one day want to know about their Grandmothers teaching career. So this was a very easy, inexpensive gift idea that was inspired by one Nichole Heady from papertrey ink has done previously. her questions were not really appropriate for Australia, so we personalised these. It was great to be able to prompt her about things like a teacher exchnge program to Canada a number of years ago and letting the kids listen to the cricket in summer whilst they finished off work or did art……..I think she’ll love it. So in total I spent $4 on a pen. I always have notebooks around for this type of thing, it is a recycled jar and I have a wardrobe full of packaging ideas that I just grab, so a gal bucket will get a new home…………The patterned paper was in my stash and all the stamps and cardstock and ribbon are of course Stampin up! (from the new mini and also made use of a level two hostess set). The paper was cool though as my kids actually made it into a find a word so they helped by finding words and circling them before we stuck them down…..LOL!!
Christmas preparations are happening here, so you will see lots of great ideas in the coming days…….pop back and see what my friends and relos are getting for Chrissy from my stamp room!!
