A teenage birthday card

This card is using up some retired stock and also some of my Martha Stewart ribbon, but who can resist Baja Breeze and Basic Grey? I have embossed the waves with white embossing powder onto the gloss cardstock (precut into ovals) and used my brayer with some bashful blue, baja breeze and marina mist inkpads. It is hard to see in the photo but in real lie it shows a subtle graduation between the colours. The splatter stamp from French foliage is a big hit for creating interesting backgrounds, used here to mimic water splats. The happy birthday stamp comes from a stamp set found in the last mini catalogue……..this one will get a workout from my stash box  I think. I’m now working on those birthday cards I showed you yesterday from Jayne Mercer’s blog and have a couple of cards for a class to design. All images © Stampin’ Up! 1990 – 2011.
