Some new stuff

With just 4 days til the Occasions Catalogue and the Salebration bonus starting, I guess it’s time to show you some creations made with brand new products……

Thanks Tag

This is a little gift tag made with new products……the tag was punched with using the scallop tag topper punch  (133323 $39.95)- now lately I have noticed the fast and furious pace that Stampin’ Up! have produced their amazing product videos….so I thought I’d share them with you by providing a link…..if you click on the product name there may well be a link to one of these. I’d recommend watching these before purchasing….why?…..they provide great tips and techniques with the product but they also sprout the versatility of the product and this can help you decide if the product is right for you. The tag is 2 inches wide (5.1 cm) and needs to be cut just right to fit into the punch and create a perfect top. The ribbons thread through the ‘hanger hole’ that is cut by the punch – the ribbons a mix of the old and new. I have containers that sit right on my desk with scrap ribbon that I mostly use for just this purpose….the tops of tags etc, a great way to use up scraps. The DSP  is also from the DSP  Fresh prints stack (132996 $11.95)stack that is in the new catalogue. This is a versatile pack, using the lovely colour combo of coastal cabana, crumb cake, real red and whisper white. I love paper stacks – they are less expensive and are perfectly designed for card making, so if that’s you paper craft kick – look for those. The stamp set is the very cool Yippee skippee from the main catalogue and that amazing rose is the very first one I made using my Spiral Flower original die (129379 $29.95). This is a bargain and makes the most amazing flowers (I whacked a rhinestone in the centre for pizzazz…..not an easy task, but worth the effort. These roses are standardly too high to whack on a card you can mail but I have seen some video tutes of some cool ones made that you could get away with on a card…..

If you’d like to get a closer look at the products in the catalogues, then click here or else drop me a line and I’ll send you a catalogue. (The online catalogues will be updated on the 28th)

If you’d like to order these you can also contact me or else get right in there and do it yourself by clicking here. You whack the numbers in, your details and it will be delivered to your doorstep in no time…. (remember it’s always better to have a demonstrator -wink wink – “Sharon Davis”, you get a much better price and I get a small commission).

I have a card for you next with some salebration goodies…

Happy birthday Barbara!

Barbara celebrated a birthday recently. Barbara is a member of a special group of stampers I get to visit on a regular basis. This lovely group of friends always treat each others birthdays with the pomp  and ceremony they deserve. It is customary to make a card and then we all get to oogle each others creations…..I always feel especially privileged to join them on these occasions. So with Barbara’s birthday I really wanted a great card………I’m a bit fond of the old concord crush at the moment – so splashed out and used the coordinating ribbon for the first time. The concord crush was paired with pear pizazz ….what else? I have watercoloured the hydrangea from ‘Because I care’ (a hostess exclusive stamp set) using pear pizzazz ink along with old olive, purely plum and concord crush, on watercolour paper of course!! Watercolour paper is the easiest way to make your colouring look instantly better…….I have used a piece of pear pizazz patterned paper from the stack of papers that cmes in the hostess In colour DSP stack. This has been placed in the square lattice embossing folder (available from the current mini catalogue). I have used a vintage tag (also in the current mini) and stamped the ‘b’ using the rough type alphabet (available in the mini). The adhesive pearls have been added to complete the charm…..

The inside has a piece of confetti white CS stamped with the hydrangea image stamped in pear pizazz and then in concord crush, the sentiment added……a nice finishing touch. The ebvelope is also decorated the both the hydrangea and the ‘b’ motif……..

Now, anyone needing a copy of the mini catalogue or the salebration catalogue? Drop me an e-mail and I’ll have them delivered to your inbox or front door as quick as a wink…………..sharon@lvh.com.au

A fun ‘welcome’ card…..

Another thing that happened during my blogging holiday is that we hired a new vet and she starts work in the morning. Anyone who has  to work with my husband first thing in the morning deserves a prize, so on her first day I thought I’d make her a card……..to welcome her to this new adventure in her life….a paying job LOL!! Nadia is actually from Canada and I look forward to meeting her…….

The colour combo for this came straight from the colour coach (regal rose, so saffron and soft suede…..lovin’ it!!). The size is also a little different – actually designed to go in the cute ‘small open ended envelopes‘ which are 17cm x 8.9cm ($11.95 for 20). I always make my cards 0.5cm smaller in each direction so that the layers and buttons and ribbons and pearls (you get the idea!!) can fit in nicely.

The stamp sets used for this project are D or Dog and C for Cat……must haves for animal lovers. I have stamped the envelope too and see the scallop footprint medallion? Well that will be used to stick the envelope down……makes the back look soooooooo cute!!Want to see the inside?? Doya??? …….u sure???? You know that I’m into decorating that too…..I have used the same colours and elements and have finally used up some scraps of ribbon left over from the last catalogue.

The sentiment is ‘Just 4 You’ and comes from a cute little set in the mini catalogue…….speaking of catalogues, I have some mini catalogues and salebration catalogues ready to go out……pop me an e-mail (sharon@lvh.com.au) and include your street address and their will be one of each on its way!!

Fox and friends baby gift tin

I had some very exciting news just this last week……………….{have a few friends holding their breath in blogland heheheh}………….not not me silly!!! One of my very special customers is having a precious little bundle of her own……I’ve offered any of my little precious bundles to anyone who walks through my door, but she chose to have her own…………..and she is just about half way and sporting a pretty cute baby bump too!!!

I had to surprise her at or stamp stash class last night with some little baby goodies all wrapped up in a cute tin……which I decorated using the fox and friends stamp set using colours that will eventually be part of the new bold colour family – old olive, tangerine tango, real red and pacific point. She doesn’t want to know the sex and is just after the 10 cute fingers and toes variety of bub……I’m really so thrilled and just know that she will be such a worthy mum…….will show some of us up I think LOL…..so congrats, and I hope that you enjoy the months ahead {I know she will read this on Tuesday morning at work…LOL} I am looking forward to watch you grow {hehehe} and develop into this new phase of life…..that NEVER ends….Ok….parenthood is pretty special……..as I start working on the 10 loads of washing {at least} that need to be dne his weekend……….aaauuugghhhhhhhh

Fox and friends gift

Here’s a little known fact about me…….my maiden name was Fox…..so there!!

When I saw this set with a cute little fox I had to have it…have a few Fox relos that will love it!!

Another crappy photo but this card and gift was put together by my 12 year old daughter for a friend at school.

I did tie the bow……..stop laughing Cheryl and Amanda…and Penny and Liz and Barbara ………and Phil……ohhhh the list is too long!! You’ll all be pleased to know that the rest of my family just hands me the ribbon too……

She did all the stamping, placing, punching  and she did tie allllllllll that ribbon on the handle of the lolly box……hmmm my ribbon collection looks a bit lighter now, she actually used those little scraps you save in a jar and never seem to use….good onya Cait !!

I actually thought we might make this (amongst two others) at stamp club this saturday night – good for kids and hose friends who are just fun huh!!

Friends become vintage…..

well I reckon this is a set I’ll never let leave my collection. This is Vintage Vogue…just spectacular….and so me…..it has a real vintage look – perfect for the non perfect stampers like me…it looks rustic when you put it down…sometimes mine looks even more so LOL.

The frame and the card on the right are a copy of items on page 12 of the catalogue…..the best place to get ideas …..

The card on the left (the baja card) is one of Teneale Williams – I lurve this card although she will always be her own bow expert –  that by far was the hardest part of this card LOL…the rest is just the clever use of colour and layering techniques. The card on the right – the melon mambo one, as I’ve said before, is a version of a Petronela Hardy card….so lovely……

We really are lucky for the great artists that are on the web that we use as inspiration….or to just copy LOL…with acknowledgement of course……I know many of the girls who attended were happy to ‘touch’ a card that was a copy of Teneale’s (although I was not motivated to use a sewing machine so mine is definitely simpler!) and many were happy to ‘discover’ a new artist for them in Petronela….so – lesson here……Use other artists as inspiration until your mojo kicks in for a new stamp set – I’m off and running with this one now…but it did take a while!

This is the last instalment of our launch shots…..back to regular programming…wait until you see what I have done with some slow cooker packet mixes LOL!!!

Tricky Treats……

Here are some of my samples made with ‘A little treat’………….I just love this set…I reckon you can make this work for anyone of any age and goes great with ‘Something sweet’ that was in the last catalogue.

Living in Camden, NSW means living with hot air balloons…..tis truly great to get up on a Sunday morning and hear the balloons outside….they are sometimes close enough to wave to from my bedroom window – which is on the third floor and our house sits atop a hill…….The photo in the framed 12in page was taken in the school holidays when we headed out (only a couple of hundred metres from our house) to see 3 gorgeous balloons landing in the paddock – returning from a breakfast flight…..I had to stop and take a picture….it helped that the balloons matched our new designer paper just perfectly LOL……

You can see some great ways to use the sweet treat cups.…..do you like the one with the penguins trapped in the balloon….weird huh LOL!!

Radical robots

Here are the cute robots projects we dislayed……the cards were actually made for my eldest two children way back in March for their shared birthday. The kiwi kiss and basic gray card was for number 1 son and the pink pirouette and kraft card…with my fave ribbon of all time ahhhh, was for number 1 daughter.

See the cute little pillow boxes at the bottom? These were made using some embossing on cardstock, die cut using my big shot…ooofffffff coooouurse!! and a hole punched out with the wide oval punch before they were constructed!! Inside are new born baby socks!! OMG…..don’t you just want a baby again after seeing those socks…..I do…….I’m now over it!! LOL!! These socks are actually going to a special little one delivered just yesterday…..10LB bundle named Connor – the special delivery for our head nurse at the vet hospital…….what a great baby shower gift huh!!

Birds on a cottage wall…..

Here are the display items from the launch using the new two step bird punch and the cottage wall designer papers.

Can you see the frame at the back? Lana made this using the punch, some leaves cut with the big shot and a little ‘love’ tag made from the tiny tags set and jewellery punch.

On the right is our gorgeous centre piece…….this is always a cCrrrraaZZZZzzyyy item my sister usually volunteers to make for us. This time it was a beautiful butterfly house……just spectacular…..

These designer papers are great – and plenty who visited thought so as well, considering the number of sample packs we’ve made up….designer paper, while obviously great for scrapping , really does make a gorgeous card even better…..
