Two days in the same week…..wow…..

The cards I have been promising to show you – ‘thoughts of you’ cards. I have some friends who use these cards a lot and my new personal mantra is to have some ‘me’ time more regularly, so I’ve been using that to stamp. Guess what – the house work can wait! I can never seem to keep my place clean enough or tidy enough for my liking so seeing as though that doesn’t give me satisfaction, my crafting does….and I have enjoyed creating just a little every day or two…..so I intend to craft up a storm this year….you will hopefully get to see these creations more often too. So here they are…

thoughts of you 1

This first one uses a stamp set and punch combination that has been sitting in my little craft room for ages and never been inked or punched…..and I love this……some doily work with two of each flower type in the in-colours that coordinate with the resin dahlias that I cracked open for the centres and then I did use some garden secret leaves – matching the size of these blossoms perfectly……I made a few that left off the sentiment and then can use them for birthdays or whatever occasions come my way…….

thoughts of you 2

Now this is a favourite…inspired by the lovely work of Ms Dawn McVey, who did some lovely cards a week or so back using the idea of generational stamping an image using a few tones of the same colour to give this blurred effect. I haven’t yet perfected the technique but love the simplicity in design and technique. I do love the look of these and it can be used with any line art image and I even used it with the leaves from the set that are solid and I think they look ‘interesting’ as well. I made a few of these too and managed to use up some of the huge stash of buttons I have amassed over the years…..yep – buttons and ribbons get me every time…

Speaking of buttons…..wait til you see my project from yesterday – no stamping involved but a heap of big shotting (a new word?) and button use happened on that one……hang in there….I will be back  🙂

If you’d like more details of the products used on these cards, then drop me a line in the comment and I’ll happily list the products.

Back to programming for school …..GGggggrrrrr

Oh Hello!

I know….long time no hear…..excuses are just boring…but I am back….why? for me……no other reason would keep me here. My 2014 intends to be about what makes me, and then of course my family happy. So….firstly a card that I have made to send to the few people who missed out on a Christmas card this year….Yes, I did get them out. Much to my relief. I have only ever missed one year and that was 2012 and i am determined to never do that again….it’s sad really. I sent a card this year to a friend only to discover that she had passed away in october. We didn’t see each other often but used to e-mail etc and the fact that I missed her in 2012 makes me a little upset…..but that will never happen again….so here is the card I was talking about…

Hello

There is some retired stock there but really this is once again a classic design that would fit any combination of designer series paper and coordinating cardstock. I won’t list the stamps and colours but if that would help you, please drop me a line in the comment and I will – just don’t want to waste my time or yours with information that isn’t wanted……

Salebration starts soon – end of January as does the new Occasions catalogue…both of which are lovely – watch for these products making their way to the old blogo – I have some ‘thoughts of you’ cards to show you next time….

Card no 3 and 4

thinking of you 3Here is the third card in the series – this one uses lots of punched put shapes popped up on dimensionals and then placing a diamonte into the centre of each. Uses the island indigo ribbon from the salebration pack last year.

thinking of you 4

And card number 4…..using the new punch to place the sentiment……and random placed quatrefancy shapes…..

Not much to say today – getting sick I think…..just in time to go back to work!!

Some new goodies

thinking of you 1I have 4 cards made in this set – all with the same basic design but finally put together different. New stamp set……new punch and a new colour…….some old ribbon and the sentiments for these four are old and mostly retired. These were made for a friend who sends out cards to elderly members of her community – mostly to say she is thinking of them, with the aim to cheer them up…..so I needed something quick and easy – some are easier than others……but all fit the brief to cheer up….LOL watch out for the other three over the next few days.

Celebrating milestones

w b dayMy uncle turned 8- on the 23rd of June (how can you tell that from the card?  check out the date I stamped on the bottom of the image…..a new date stamp for under $10 in the new catalogue). So, I whipped this card up to mail to him along with his giftcard. Apparently he liked it and I did too – everything on the card is currently available besides the eyelet and the twine….

My Baby turned 19!

b b dayHe isn’t really my baby, but all my kids will remain my babies – they get nearer and dearer each and every year. He has had a rough year – with some ongoing health concerns and some other heavy stuff to deal with I couldn’t be prouder of the man he has become. He is a very proud big brother (most of the time) a great son and grandson and apparently a great partner. This was his birthday card – quite simply but none the less perfect for the occasion. The stamp sets used in this creation are still available the DSP and buttons from the salebration paper (I think?) from last year…….

Brighter skies ahead…

hello pictureThis was a card I made for a very lovely friend who had (and unfortunately still is) been going through some rough times and finally had some better news come her way. It was designed using the paper that was available in the last round of salebration and using a hostess set from the last mini catalogue……..hmmmm I’m a bit behind with presenting my cards aren’t I?? Hopefully things will get better on that front….I’ve missed you all and stamping and blogging over the last couple of days has put a smile in my heart…….I also received a lovely card in the mail today from a friend who was thinking of me…..it really does impact people when you take the time to send them a thought the old fashioned way……..This card uses some of my favourite embellishments……ribbons, trims (all be them paper) and of course buttons…………oh and I forgot the bling in the flower centres…….what do you think is your go-to embellishment??

6 weeks later…..

helloI did promise I’d be back……fat lot my promises mean LOL…..I do have some cards that I have been making, ready for you to look at but will stagger them over the next few weeks. I still love this set and am using it often as a go to set for a nice card to say ‘hi’ to a friend……I have lots of friends who need some lovin’ lately and so I have a few of these in the post to hopefully put a smile on their dial. I set you a challenge! Go and make a card tonight instead of watching some ridiculous TV show and send it in the mail to cheer up a friend…….you will impact someone’s life…I promise you…(ooops there goes another promise). Come back and let me know if you rise to the challenge……you never know…..you may get something in return {wink, wink}

The new catalogue goes live on the 1st…….so be sure to check it out online…..you can order new product straight from the online store if you’d like by clicking here. If you’d like a catalogue sent to your door for just $10 – drop me an e-mail sharon@lvh.com.au

Aint love grand!

6 month anniversaryMy eldest son is in love….he has been with his current girlfriend for 6 months – they celebrated their anniversary yesterday………..so I said I’d whip him up a card…….and I got a chance to bust open my new goodies. This stamp is now retired but…………………it is currently available……..der….. it included the sentiment he really wanted to send to his girl. I will post more details later and show you the ‘cooking’ he did for her…….I am teaching him well – he also surprised her with a floral arrangement delivered during the day while he was at work……..its the small things…….thats what our men need to understand….don’t you think? I’ll pop back with more details later – off to have lunch and a stampin’ frenzy with a friend……reckon we won’t get past the coffee and talk LOL….

The box containing the chocolate covered strawberries that Brendan cooked was also decorated to match…..(the toblerone bar was melted in a bowl, above simmering water and the strawberries dipped and then cooled and repackaged)

strawberry box

Obviously i used the same colours – crumb cake, midnight muse, gumball green and starfruit. I used new stuff from the mini catalogue starting very soon…….so stay tuned to get your hands on the great new stamp sets, papers and embossing folders shown here…………..

Thoughts for a friend….

thoughts of you card

This card was whipped up the other day for a friend who was having surgery. She is now doing well and we wanted to let her know that we were still thinking of her and wishing her the best………..I actually tried to post this yesterday but it was 45°C at lunch time and the internet was as uncooperative as we all felt in the blistering heat. I did get a delivery of new goodies yesterday but it was too hot to do anything but mount my stamps….also need to order me in some mojo….I’m spring cleaning and between doing those jobs and recovering from them physically, creativity is just taking a backward step…..ahhh tonight may be the night. I bought my sisters birthday present today and so whilst I’m in an organised mood – I think I’ll make her card ready to go……will pop on and show you when its finished……I should be safe….she never reads my blog anyway….
