Long time no hear….

churchIt has been a long time……I have been crafting….maybe not as much as I have done, but my craft table does get used……I just need to find the time to post my creations….or take the photo before they head out the door.

I have a lovely picture that reminds me of a very special weekend I had recently. I spent the weekend at the central coast with good friends (no family…….just me….) celebrating the marriage of one. It was weekend that turned into something far more special than I thought it would and it was a well earned break from all things ‘normal’. I have been caring for sick family members for most of this year and so it was nice to get away for a break and drink some ‘jungle juice’……..Now that is a whole other story…… I promise to come back and share some crafting shots soon…..

Happy Australia Day….

….and commiserations to all the teachers out there with just one day of holidays to go….Gggrrrrr

Lovey card

Some new goodies here – especially the two items from the salebration selection…….just 2 days until you too can qualify for these beauties for free……the embossing folder and the stamp set!! I was inspired by a card that is in the salebration leaflet…….

up close lovey card

And as you can see this one opens with a little surprise……….bit different…

Some new stuff

With just 4 days til the Occasions Catalogue and the Salebration bonus starting, I guess it’s time to show you some creations made with brand new products……

Thanks Tag

This is a little gift tag made with new products……the tag was punched with using the scallop tag topper punch  (133323 $39.95)- now lately I have noticed the fast and furious pace that Stampin’ Up! have produced their amazing product videos….so I thought I’d share them with you by providing a link…..if you click on the product name there may well be a link to one of these. I’d recommend watching these before purchasing….why?…..they provide great tips and techniques with the product but they also sprout the versatility of the product and this can help you decide if the product is right for you. The tag is 2 inches wide (5.1 cm) and needs to be cut just right to fit into the punch and create a perfect top. The ribbons thread through the ‘hanger hole’ that is cut by the punch – the ribbons a mix of the old and new. I have containers that sit right on my desk with scrap ribbon that I mostly use for just this purpose….the tops of tags etc, a great way to use up scraps. The DSP  is also from the DSP  Fresh prints stack (132996 $11.95)stack that is in the new catalogue. This is a versatile pack, using the lovely colour combo of coastal cabana, crumb cake, real red and whisper white. I love paper stacks – they are less expensive and are perfectly designed for card making, so if that’s you paper craft kick – look for those. The stamp set is the very cool Yippee skippee from the main catalogue and that amazing rose is the very first one I made using my Spiral Flower original die (129379 $29.95). This is a bargain and makes the most amazing flowers (I whacked a rhinestone in the centre for pizzazz…..not an easy task, but worth the effort. These roses are standardly too high to whack on a card you can mail but I have seen some video tutes of some cool ones made that you could get away with on a card…..

If you’d like to get a closer look at the products in the catalogues, then click here or else drop me a line and I’ll send you a catalogue. (The online catalogues will be updated on the 28th)

If you’d like to order these you can also contact me or else get right in there and do it yourself by clicking here. You whack the numbers in, your details and it will be delivered to your doorstep in no time…. (remember it’s always better to have a demonstrator -wink wink – “Sharon Davis”, you get a much better price and I get a small commission).

I have a card for you next with some salebration goodies…

Big Shot Shirt

Now…no stampin….no paper or cardstock….no ribbon…..BUT heaps of buttons and fabric……

I had a shirt given to me a few years ago that I really loved. On the yoke (the panel bit around the neckline) it had a layer of tulle with some lovely bead work. Bead work on shirts always makes me nervous at wash time and this one washed and washed and washed….but eventually the beads came away. I stripped the beads off and it has been sitting in my craft room for eons waiting for me to do something with it……and I finally did……I used my bigshot – my floral dies and some buttons and just layered them up……here is how it turned out….

Big Shot Shirt

Now I since washed it and it doesn’t quite look as ‘neat, but we’ll see what it looks like when it gets off the line. The buttons are a lovely range of colours and sizes of neutral tones with a gold fleck through them and I’ve stitched them on with gold thread. I even put a flower on the upper middle of the back of the shirt for a bit of fun…….I’m very happy to have an old/new shirt again, even if it’s just for a while…..

I’ll have some new stuff in the next few posts…..do you need an occasions or a salebration catalogue? – Drop me a line if I can help you out.

Two days in the same week…..wow…..

The cards I have been promising to show you – ‘thoughts of you’ cards. I have some friends who use these cards a lot and my new personal mantra is to have some ‘me’ time more regularly, so I’ve been using that to stamp. Guess what – the house work can wait! I can never seem to keep my place clean enough or tidy enough for my liking so seeing as though that doesn’t give me satisfaction, my crafting does….and I have enjoyed creating just a little every day or two…..so I intend to craft up a storm this year….you will hopefully get to see these creations more often too. So here they are…

thoughts of you 1

This first one uses a stamp set and punch combination that has been sitting in my little craft room for ages and never been inked or punched…..and I love this……some doily work with two of each flower type in the in-colours that coordinate with the resin dahlias that I cracked open for the centres and then I did use some garden secret leaves – matching the size of these blossoms perfectly……I made a few that left off the sentiment and then can use them for birthdays or whatever occasions come my way…….

thoughts of you 2

Now this is a favourite…inspired by the lovely work of Ms Dawn McVey, who did some lovely cards a week or so back using the idea of generational stamping an image using a few tones of the same colour to give this blurred effect. I haven’t yet perfected the technique but love the simplicity in design and technique. I do love the look of these and it can be used with any line art image and I even used it with the leaves from the set that are solid and I think they look ‘interesting’ as well. I made a few of these too and managed to use up some of the huge stash of buttons I have amassed over the years…..yep – buttons and ribbons get me every time…

Speaking of buttons…..wait til you see my project from yesterday – no stamping involved but a heap of big shotting (a new word?) and button use happened on that one……hang in there….I will be back  🙂

If you’d like more details of the products used on these cards, then drop me a line in the comment and I’ll happily list the products.

Back to programming for school …..GGggggrrrrr

Oh Hello!

I know….long time no hear…..excuses are just boring…but I am back….why? for me……no other reason would keep me here. My 2014 intends to be about what makes me, and then of course my family happy. So….firstly a card that I have made to send to the few people who missed out on a Christmas card this year….Yes, I did get them out. Much to my relief. I have only ever missed one year and that was 2012 and i am determined to never do that again….it’s sad really. I sent a card this year to a friend only to discover that she had passed away in october. We didn’t see each other often but used to e-mail etc and the fact that I missed her in 2012 makes me a little upset…..but that will never happen again….so here is the card I was talking about…

There is some retired stock there but really this is once again a classic design that would fit any combination of designer series paper and coordinating cardstock. I won’t list the stamps and colours but if that would help you, please drop me a line in the comment and I will – just don’t want to waste my time or yours with information that isn’t wanted……

Salebration starts soon – end of January as does the new Occasions catalogue…both of which are lovely – watch for these products making their way to the old blogo – I have some ‘thoughts of you’ cards to show you next time….

Well surprise surprise…..

……………I still know my password and user name to get into this blog………just as well. I also managed to uncover the camera cable…….who knew! I guess that means I can share a couple of projects that have graced my stamping desk over the past months……no promises, but I may even post more than once this year. I know, promises promises!!

Image…………..a birthday card, set for a friend of my daughters. I still can’t get over that Aviary has gone……this would work for any group of images, florals would be lovely as well. Repeat the image and whack on a ribbon and a sentiment…..wholah!
